Re: eklum's 91 4wd Civic wagon .
got distracted slid over a curb into a embankment car was running alright but it got stuck in mud so the wheels were just spinning so left it there because i couldnt get any cell service and so i came back for it in the morning to find it gone it had been picked up by a tow truck and since i havent seen it yet idk the extent of the damage but the tow truck guy said that it didnt look worth fixing and he said a tire poped when i know it didnt im thinking they tried to drag the car not knowing its 4wd and dragged it with the front tires locked making the rear tires lock until im gunna assume the tranny snaped under pressure..

thanks a lot it means a lot to me ive put my heart in soul into this build im gunna give it my all
- i spoke with the tow company that towed my car and he admitted that they towed it improperly because they thought it was fwd.. and he was really honest and sincere about helping taking care of any damages that would be on their part im gunna just try to get a refund for the tow that was 580$ and call it even so i dont have to bother him when i find out how much its really gunna cost

Re: eklum's 91 4wd Civic wagon .
im playing with the idea of maybe holding onto this car and finding a chassis with lower mileage and swapping over all the 4wd goodies & refurbishing them in the process creating the freshest 4wd wagon known to man! lol any takers?
heres the one im looking at if i can get my tax return before he sells it kinda the one that gave me the idea , its only got 113k clean title owned by someone named liz so its probally babied and its auto and looks pretty much new.

dude, sorry to here about your wagon! I just found this thread and read all of it, also. Lot's of love here, it'd be a shame to let it die.
I have one also. An '89, same color as yours. I got mine from the original owner in SC with over 260k mile but in relatively good condition. I had the motor redone {top and bottom} new clutch, radiator, starter, distributor, master cylinder and have been very impressed with it's reliability and economy.
My problems have been finding driveline parts. First it was the propeller shaft at the back going bad. The U joints are not replaceable, Honda doesn't make them anymore, and I couldn't find a decent used one, so I took it out and just motored around in 2wd. It worked just fine and maybe got a little better mileage, but the torque steer became more apparent.
Now my problem is I didn't keep an eye on the trany fluid and have burnt up 5th gear. It still engages and drives, but shakes real hard and makes terrible noises. The rest of the gears seem to work OK, but it's no fun trying to do 60 in 4th for any amount of time. I wanted to rebuild the whole trany, but again, Honda doesn't show any parts available.
At this point my options are find a used one, which is very unlikely here in Ohio, or figure out if parts from another trany will work.
If worse comes to worst, I'll have to try to part it out or scrap it.
If you, or anyone, knows or hears anything I'd appreciate a headUp!

Before
heres where i got my body allignment
overall
im back to where i was before if not a lil better, i need to replace the front crossmember and subframe, steering rack, lca, radius arms and then as long as that lines up properly theres no reason i cant get it running as straight or straighter than ever so im not giving up quite yet.
although i am going to be looking for a new wagon to pick up in the near future i just need a fresh start with something as powerful as im planning in my head . not to mention i am going to need a beater if im going to build any thing this car gets
--im also looking to get jdm headlights and corners

im pretty content as well!lol im glad you feel the way i do ! means a lot that people recgonize what i gone thru with this project and actually care which direction the build goes thanks for all the support!

Re: eklum's 91 4wd Civic wagon .
well i guess it looked pretty bad with all the mud , cracked windshield , huge dent in the roof ( which i poped out pretty nice :S ) popped tire ( due to his shitty tow service) bent suspension arms. in any insurance companies eyes it would be totaled for sure.. considering the age and blue book value and suspesnion damages .. i considered totaling it but ive already came so far and this wasnt that bad of an accident i cant bounce back, im positive ill have this thing looking the way i want it to by our second anniversery lol
lol i wouldnt doubt a few have .. at least i hope they did. . so i dont feel so sorry and lame for the americans that have done jdm conversions lol

in car news today, i picked up another set of old school enkeis im gunna refurbish
im gunna most likely sand and polish them all til they shine like mirrors get new center caps and if i can find a way maybe put a little lip on them. i heard you can get rims widened these are ones i think would look sick as **** with a 1inch or 2 inch lip fully polished..
