^ Still need to prepare some parts before I get to that point.

Progress:
I pulled the carpet out since I had a water leak into the driver's footwell beginning last winter, and which I put in a temporary patch in the spring. Just wanted to make sure that all the water was dried up and there was no permanent damage. My clutch pedal has a small leak also which is making a mess of the carpet. I will have the carpet cleaned and at the same time I'll attend to that pedal. Overall, the floor pan looks good. Nothing really major to report; a little surface rust which I can deal with. Only thing of note is that the passenger side at the rear corner will need attention within the next year for preventative purposes.

Here is the floor pan. In the picture below you can see the OEM wiring harness for the bumper pole running along the centre column. I installed this in the spring also, along with a set of real CDM/USDM 92-93 fog lights w/ harness ... as well as EDM Power-adjustable headlights, and a few other things. Seems I forgot to mention this in thread here... oops. Pics later.

Also by the parking brake you can see a bundle of wires - this is for the OEM-wired seat heaters which I installed. This wiring basically follows the same path as the parking brake wire.

Thanks! Yes, slowly but surely. I tend to get distracted by gems that I find in the local wrecker yards, and this takes time away from the resto project on my car. As an example: Just when I didn't think I could possibly get any more lucky at the wreckers, I found an RHD JDM Acura Integra SiR-G DB8 sedan with an (mostly) intact B18C and OEM LSD trans. So, I pulled the trans and some other bits, naturally. Going to resell them. Left the engine for someone else. Yeah yeah, I know: B-series VTEC for $225? Meh. I like the D.

Kind-of on this note, I have begun the process of purging excess parts that have been amassing in my garage. You know what this means: Cool / rare / optional / accessories that I have removed myself or else obtained from overseas. It's a laborious process so these things will dribble out over time. I intend to post them mostly on eBay.

Here's a pic of that DB8 for the non-believers:

Great find on that DB! I'd love to get my paws on an LSD trans. for a couple hundred bucks!

Any DC parts you expect to sell?

Well ... not even that much.

I just sold the DB8 PFMs, but those are for the sedan. Other than the LSD trans, which would fit a DC, I also pulled the complete AUTO Climate Control system which would retrofit into either DB or DC. I have some CDM/USDM OEM fog lights for DC (complete, including harness) as well as an OEM sunroof wind visor.

I remember we talked about the visor, but you said it has some scratches correct?

I've never seen the auto climate control. What's that look like?

Yes, on the underside. Not visible from the top.

This is the complete setup (actually it has some extra parts that aren't needed):

Main unit:

Basically, it's an electric AUTO climate control that monitors cabin temperature and adjusts heat/cool automatically. Typically seen only in higher-end vehicles, these were pretty standard in JDM Civics and Integras. With a bit of effort they can be retrofit into a USDM/CDM vehicle. I have a kit (actually, two) for 5G Civics.

Glad you've found the DIYs useful. I'm never sure if anyone actually uses them so it's actually nice to hear this. Thanks.

Yeah, thanks! Basically everything I've managed to purchase for the car (plus the car itself) has been a good deal, and below market price and/or offset by reselling other stuff I've found at market price.

^ Yes! It is, and has been done a couple of times, so I won't be pioneering in that department ... though I do have some ideas about improving installations that have already been documented.

As for today's work, I managed to clean up that carpet with some Simple Green and a hose, then hung it to dry. Might take a couple days to dry completely now that it's getting colder out here. Also cleaned up the brake fluid mess in the footwell from the leaking clutch MC, then replaced the whole MC unit. Remarkably easy to do; I am pretty impressed. Usually there is *something* that causes a snag and thus becomes an all-day effort when it was supposed to take just an hour or two. Hah.

Snow? Already? We just got into fall.
Nice finds, I'm digging that trunk cover.
Weren't you worried driving in the snow with just primer on that quarter?
If I were you I would've jumped on that B18C and every JDM piece, made the engine usable, and resold it for some cash.

Regardless beautiful thread. You subbed to me, as I shall sub to you. Well done,

Yeah, it protects that back pretty well.

Yes. I don't recommend it.

I know. Just didn't have the time or inclination, frankly. Or hardware to move it. And the yard doesn't provide a hoist. Just too much hassle.

Cheers.

Small bit of progress this weekend:

Screwed the side sills back on to the carpet, on the under side locations where it had come apart. I used metal tapping screws, #6, 3/8" long. Worked great though I recommend a small washer too if I was to do it again. I didn't take any pics because I never think people will be interested in this kind of stuff but now that I'm writing this a pic would make things somewhat more interesting than a wall of text. Robertson (square) head because in Canada we're all about the Robertson.

Also glued back on the matting under the carpet that had pulled off, using some Permatex Heavy Duty Spray Adhesive. I read reviews that said this stuff is just as good as the 3M product, just less expensive. Works for me. I think in the USA it's labelled as Permatex "Headliner and Carpet Adhesive".

Put the carpet back in and of course had to dick around with the heated seats wiring when reinstalling the seats. Then when I took the car for a drive, I discovered an annoying rattle... and I proceeded to take the driver's seat out again and pull up the carpet only to discover the source of the rattle was ....... I had left a screwdriver on the roof. So, at least it was an easy problem to resolve.

Then I went to put in my new 1-DIN cup holder. My old one would only hold one normal sized cup (plus a tiny one), which annoyed me whenever I had a passenger who also had a cup. So I found a neat replacement one:

Getting it to fit right into the DIN spot took some mental and physical gymnastics but I finally got it.

Then I went to install the remaining interior plastics, but I was reminded that I had a CDM/USDM Lower Audio Console with a bent mounting bracket that I had salvaged from a wrecker yard, and I wanted to reshape it and test mount the bracket in my car to check fitment. I was successful but by then available light was fading fast so I put off the remaining tasks of finishing the interior plastics installation. Since winter is nearly here (!!), I set about cleaning up my garage so I can take care of more of these tasks after work on weekdays in there where there's: A. Fluorescent light; B. Warmth.

Thanks for reading!

Good to know the length of the screws. I have been meaning to try some screws to attach the carpet to the sills. 👍

^ It's actually removed from a JDM Mitsubishi Montero / Pajero. I've tried to find pictures online of it installed in vehicles to confirm but haven't had any luck.

I think lots of people use something like this which is a universal 1-DIN coin/cup holder. They're cheap, decent, and widely available. But I wanted something a little different.
