Thanks Ryan.

*** Shout out *** Looking for a local Honda technician/wiring guru to wire tuck the chassis harness and get the engine to a running state on K-Pro. Please let me know if you know anyone local to the Seattle/Tacoma area.

Didn't work for my Recaro Speeds in my EG.

I have to order Recaro Sliders at the bare min. The brackets I have should hopefully work...

Well ****. Guess I better get to test fitting these.

29 October

Finally got a little something done. Mostly just some fitting and figuring out routing of things. Who doesn't like pics?!

Hood dampers

Hush22 hydro line (needs to be drilled and firewall mounted)

Rywire master cylinder lines (need to drill and mount those too)

And from tonight, proposed fuel line set-up. Anyone see any issues? (The feed line I've been talking about will have an a/n adapter on the firewall and I am sending Hybrid new dimensions for the feed line to the regulator.)

Fuel setup looks pretty good, I would probably use a 90 degree fitting on the firewall to a straight fitting to the regulator to avoid having that loop coming out.

Edit: Whoops, saw you're already planning something different

chase why not remove the fuel line from the cabin and route it outside of it?
you can route it to the driver side frame rail and up to the fuel setup. Just me and never liked a fpr center top firewall.
looks great though, glad its coming together slowly still.

That's exactly the plan!

Looking at pros and cons, I'd be an idiot to pull the whole supply line and have one made just to satisfy the placement of the FPR on the frame rail. I'm using the kit I was supplied with minus one line that has to be changed so it's a no brainer. All the lines clear everything and are out of the way so this is it.

This is a fantastic build story.

Any luck on the motor mounts and Hasport kit to "raise" the engine a bit? I know that was hurtful to see when the clearance was so low.

I'm not shocked the f^*#in Sparco equipment didn't line up. This damn car! I drilled two of the sliders and got them on perfectly, had to go to ACE and get new hardware to bolt the sliders to the seats cause the supplied hardware had a way larger allen bolt, get the sliders on and they don't bolt up to the brackets now. Gonna have to measure and drill those out now but I'll make that **** work

Thank you I'm gonna have a friend fab up the rear motor mount at some point, when he's got time. Otherwise, the engine is in there and is still gonna sit low.

Exactly. Trying to motivate myself to do work here, knowing I have so much, is slowing me down lol.

Dude, after I drilled out the sliders and TRIED to attach the handle in between them...it was "bent" as if the width between the sliders was too much.

**** wouldn't work for me AT ALL...

Yea man I HeManned mine and made it work. Hell maybe it's supposed to be bent a little. I don't know if I'd have any luck returning anything. I bought them probably this time a year ago. Tomorrow I'll start drilling new holes in the seat bracket and hopefully in one shot get those bolted down like the sliders went on. (minus buying new hardware).

1 November

I've been working on my seats. K-series (member) informed me he had the same Sparco sliders and mounts to go along with the same Recaro Speed's I have and that he couldn't get them bolted up. So I decided to see for myself as all the stuff has just been sitting inside.

He was right. I had to modify the whole set-up.

First up was to re-drill the seat mount bolt holes on the sliders. 1/4" drill bit

The Sparco hardware didn't thread into the seat so ACE was the place for new stainless M6x1.0 bolts

Sliders mounted

Then I go to bolt the seat mounts on and I can only align the upper or forward holes. Had to measure up the holes on the sliders and drill out the seat mounts. Of course one of them is directly over the angled (inner most seat mount position) so it's extremely hacked up now. My plan is to weld the nut onto the seat base and just thread the bolt down. I'll get a picture of what I'm talking about when I get the next one done. Been on this one seat for 6-8 hours. FML

Sliders mounted

This is my BIGGEST problem with the seats. With the handle THAT bent, it puts too much pressure on the sliders to make them adjust with ease. I'm just going to get Recaro Sliders and make them work with brackets that I have.

Regardless...I was sold on the same **** Chase was..."This is what everyone is using....". But since I've had my stuff for YEARS...kind of hard to go back now.

I'm glad you got it somewhere usable. Your build is looking nice!

Thanks Steve. I did a quick PM search on the company I got this stuff from and they're nowhere to be found. They were super nice and helpful, but I can't give up on this crap now lol. I wish I didn't have to modify this stuff like it is but my seat seems to slide ok. One problem aside from the obvious is the seat belt bracket welded on the side needs to be cut off. I slid the seat back and it dug right into the plastic circular cap on the side. I'll just cut that off since I'm using Takata harnesses anyway.

There seems to be a lot of money invested in builds here. I'm not financing a single part of this so income plays a huge role. I am not a car builder, just a hopeful, working in my garage on my long lived DA.

Seats look great. Maybe one day I shall sit in one

Edit: I had a recaro in my old DA using a Sparco bracket and had to do a lot of fudging to make it fit. I still have a recaro seat bracket for a DA6 I picked up. You need the tab sliders though, which I don't have any more.

Perhaps! It's all good man, thanks for lookin' out. I'll make these work. But for anyone's future reference don't buy Sparco sliders and bases for Recaro's!
