How was the clutch job on the 8th gen si? I see you have a lift I don’t but my 8th gen SI has 270k on the Oem clutch it’s getting a little rough shifting. In the next few weeks I will take a full weekend and tackle that job. I’ve done other clutch jobs just never removing the sub frame.
Its easier if you keep the steering rack in your car as you drop the subframe. Its not for the faint-hearted. It took two of us ex-honda mechanics 4 hours with no real issues. (Aka bolts breaking)
No doubt hahaha I will grab, Haynes Manuel also. I plan too do it with a buddy or two, we will make it happen 4 hours not likely for me lol.... no lift I can’t wait to finish my yard to build a shop. Ugh lol
Hello folks! Long time no update on Honda-tech, are any of you still around?
I have a few life updates for you fine gents I had some major health issues in late 2020, still recovering to this day so I have been left basically unable to drive since they occurred.. Pretty humbling for a sponsored amateur Time attack driver.
Since then my job went remote, fell in love with mountain biking and travel so I sold my house you see in all the old build threads I had, then built a ecoboost Ford racevan. My girlfriend does most of the driving but we are making the best of it. Been living/working full time in the van since March 2021.
The S2000, Civic hatch "zero", and the Crx are all hiding in storage for the long sleep but I'll include some of my favorite pictures. I doubt any of you care that much but here is a link to the Ford Transit build thread.
Here is the last picture of driving the s2000 before I put it away for over a year of storage. I have a stock AP1 oem hardtop silverstone S2000 in Californa I'll be picking up in the next year that I have had dibs on for over 20 years. Just need to buy some property to build a shop on before I go get it.
Oh and because we are all grease monkeys here, I tossed a toolbox in my van. Its a way to lock up valuables plus I'm really comfortable using one haha. I also had it wrapped with a design I helped make that fits the van theme.
