Drove 20 hours had 4 tire blowouts, but finally got to Gridlife Mid Ohio. It was great to see Jackie Ding again since he inspired me to build the car! (Too bad his car got destroyed right away)

Gridlifes beginner HPDE experience was amazing, they really do a great job making you comfortable and giving you the proper training so everyone is safe on the track.

Ended up doing a 1:59 as my fastest lap, the car had another 15 seconds in it I bet if I could have kept going.

Coming together more each day!

Inspection plate added, streetcar mode.

Turbo blanket all the turbo oil lines ran

K-Tuned fuel filter added inline on AEM fuel rail then ran -6 fuel feed line.

Had another track event for the s2000. Shake down feels officially done. Car performed amazing!

Now that I started road racing its going to be hard to go back to drag racing.

Had over 60 min of not blinking racing this weekend.

Detailed the daily.

The crx is running/driving with the new built LSV. Wheels/Tires should be here in the next few days.

Raced the S2000 for the 3rd time total now. Took it back to DCTC for a shake down before we bring it to Pikes peak Gridlife in Denver.

Race update: Gridlife Alpine Pikes Peak International raceway - Counter clockwise.

90+ degrees, lightning storms daily, wind.

I got 3.5 hours of track time, so that was amazing. My first few sessions out the front tires were pushing so bad that they were chunking, the car would not turn. To fix this we raised the coilovers + preload up 2 inches (Had to use preload because the R1's have a very limited range of adjustment for ride height) I had the dampening light in the front, (3/15 clicks) stiff rear (12/15 clicks), then put the 255 new RT615K's on the front and hashed 235 RS4 in the rear.

That combo got the car turning, but WAY too much. I spun twice in traffic. That was scary as hell.

Ran out of brakes after session 4 - tossed in some Halk Race pads front/rear that a teammate had. Holy **** that makes a huge difference, good thing I fixed my ABS.

Ended up doing a 1.12.4 time at PPIR, if I would have had a better rear tire I could have cut this time down by at least 5 seconds. The car wanted to spin over the bump on the oval so that had me pretty worried.

Next event will be Road America, a nice easy 8 hour drive for once.

Our camp setup at PPIR

One of my teammates built this mobile alignment rack, he sells them if you are interested.

This car ended up blowing a engine in the final GLTC event sadly.

Going over the bump at PPIR

Look at those gross wide front tires.

Still trying to sell my 10th gen, so I picked up this 1 owner vx with 414k on the clock to replace it as my daily. 50mpg here I come. This was the day I got it, super gross.

Front was jacked, so I put lowering springs in the front after this picture.

Engine bay had never been really deep cleaned.

New crinkle VC, pressure washing, with some scrubbing it looks pretty damn good.

I'll be racing at DCTC in a few weeks then Grildlife Road America, hopefully I run into some of you there!

This will be my first real Time Attack event. Went HPDE Beginner, intermediate, advanced, now TA Street.

The only way to haul tires in a S2000 lol

Removed the dust plates for added cooling to my rotors. Added some heat protection to the ball joints.

Good bye non working AC

More flow to the rad

Daily VX EG looking good!

Our setup at Road America

Couple big crashes

It was super sad to see this record setting car hit a wall at 160mph

I ended up running a 2:57 as my best lap at RA. Not competitive, but it was my first big boy track and I'm really there for the seat time. It was amazing!

Forbidden USA Mugen hardtop ordered. Got a Kirkey road racing seat with a ultra low seat bracket, the car gets sent off for a roll TA roll cage in November.

Next year for the s2000 its all safety equipment + seat time so I can level up my driving skill. Planning on attending all the Gridlife midwest events.

Hello again, long time no update.

S2000:
  • I ended the season by taking it to Road America racing in the Gridlife TA street class. Great car, really feel like we are starting to get all the small stuff worked out finally. I'm ready to take the car to the next level.

I got a hardtop finally to we can put a cage in the car.

CRX:
  • Nothing too exciting - I tried to dragrace it the final track day of the season, and had a oil light come on right as I was driving it on the trailer. I didn't have time to troubleshoot that day so that was it for the season. Just started looking into it. Appears to be a bad sensor luckily.

My favorite picture from this summer.

I traded the 2018 Civic Si in for a Toyota Tundra! Solid upgrade, I did not really care for the new Si. I'm still really missing my 8th gen..

As you can see on the trailer I picked up a new project 8th gen Civic coupe for 1,000$ . It was hit in the driver's quarter panel. Flashpro, I/H/E, rear engine mount, new brakes, tires, so a few tasteful mods already done. The plan is to fix this one up so I can use it as my gas mileage car during the summer then sell at some point and upgrade.

Gross non tinted black headlights.

Ouch.

Rest of the car is in pretty good condition for my area.

Other car updates:
  • Honda Ridgeline - Forsale
  • Honda Civic Vx hatch - Forsale
  • Honda Civic Cx hatch - The ZERO - Sold.

If you're implying the TE37's are fake that would be incorrect.

Never the less both the wheels & the car are sold. Thanks for the compliment!

I sold the TE37's to my friend to put on his new NSX that he picked up. Damn that looks good...

Pulling the tranny on the 8th Gen.

Cradle out ready to get cleaned up

Pile of clutch. The TOB was totally solid, no bearing left.

Not broken, but destroyed.

A little hot spotted but not bad.

I'm hopping to have the 8th gen civic up and running for $1200 bucks. Once it drives, then I'll start looking at fixing that giant dent, or if its even worth it or not.

Hauled the S2000 to Omaha to get a cage finally installed.

I'm in street class so most of the interior will have to be put back in, some how.

Fun to see another person try road racing and never want to drag race again hah.

Nice cars and cool timeline.

Out of curiosity what keeps you going back to the Azenis 615k? is it a spec tire for your class or does the a052/ re71r get a penalty?

Thanks man The hours of adrenaline rushing action is so much more fun then waiting in lines for hours to run a 10+ second pass, or god forbid you miss a gear or any other thing that happens to waste a pass.

Good question on the tires - For my street cars I really like the RT615k, the cost of the tire + tire sizes are exactly what draws me to them. Plus they are pretty quiet.

For the S2000, I would have bought a much better tire but I got 2 brand new RT615k's for free, so I just got the matching other two tires. They are so much heavier then my RS4's that I think the car might be slower. I'll be buying one of the two tires you posted above or another set of RS4's once I wear down the Fakens.

Typically people who lose interest in Drag Racing happens for a couple reasons, car is slow and or does not compete LOL.

Both forms of racing are generally pretty fun!

I generally agree with you here. The cars I built to drag were never built for a class, just to run the best quarter we could with what we had. I don't have the cash to join the arms race for SFWD.

Blue Si is now my DD. Got the clutch finished, wheels, ITR valve cover, deep cleaned the entire thing, and new fluids. Runs great! Not too bad for less then $1400 total investment so far. I bought another entire blue Si coupe shell for $500 that was hit on the other quarter panel so I plan to steal all the best parts off of both to make one good car.

Roll cage is finished, the S2000 is back home. Its really hard to get in and out so I need to get a steeling wheel quick release. The exhaust is being built now. Single exit all using Vibrant parts!

How was the clutch job on the 8th gen si? I see you have a lift I don’t but my 8th gen SI has 270k on the Oem clutch it’s getting a little rough shifting. In the next few weeks I will take a full weekend and tackle that job. I’ve done other clutch jobs just never removing the sub frame.
