Re: Black Magic's Acura TSX Thread
how about calling ICB for a silver emblem. took 15 seconds flat to find one.
JDM CL7 04-05 and 06-08 Front or Rear Silver H (Fits with JDM Grills only)
JDM CL7 04-05 and 06-08 Front or Rear Silver H (Fits with JDM Grills only)
edit: Just ordered it. 40 bones for an emblem seems a little much, but whatever.

Re: Black Magic's Acura TSX Thread
So last Friday I started getting estimates for some body work, however because the estimates were higher than what I wanted to spend, I decided to take a look at two TSXs over the weekend. I really liked one of them so I just picked it up. The body has some dings here and there but absolutely zero rust and has lower mileage than my old car.
Only downside is that it isn't carbon grey but I can live with black too
Since I haven't installed any parts yet, I'll be modding this one and selling my old one.

Re: Black Magic's Acura TSX Thread
Parts for the old TSX came in... upper & lower control arms as well as endlinks.
Fog lights, amp kit and line converter also came in:
Ended up replacing the cabin filter in the new tsx. Here's what it looked like:
Just a few more parts left!

Re: Black Magic's Acura TSX Thread
So for the EDFC unit for the coilovers, I was thinking of having someone install it for me but it actually doesn't seem too difficult. Only thing I'm wondering is where a good place to tap into the illumination and accessory wires would be. Any recommendations?

Re: Black Magic's Acura TSX Thread
Got the front suspension fixed on the old car on Saturday... It was a bitch to do.
Before:
After:
Replaced tranny fluid on the new car, gave it a good wash and installed one front coilover before calling it quits. Ended up snapping a bolt on the driver side... So I ordered a few new bolts from Honda that should be here Tuesday. Tomorrow I will give the front & rear camber kits a shot as well as the rear coilovers. I hate working on old cars - seized bolts drive me crazy!
On to Sunday...
Sad to say there are no other updates. Too many seized bolts and I was afraid of snapping them off. Going to order new ones from Honda then hopefully get suspension finished next weekend.
I was pretty bummed out, so I did a quick polish and some yard work to calm my nerves.
Also did a test fit with the wheels before cleaning the car. Can't wait to close that wheel gap

Re: Black Magic's Acura TSX Thread
^ Thanks man.
It was a good weekend. Got camber kits, coilovers and wheels done on Saturday.
On Sunday I installed the fog lights, JDM grill and debaged the rear. I'm probably going to put the Acura grill back on, I don't like the way the honda one fits.
Planning on rolling the fenders and getting an alignment this week. Next weekend, hopefully I'll tackle the brakes (DC5 type R calipers with s2k rotors).
For the foglights, I'm having a tough time finding a place in the firewall to run the harness/switch. Any recommendations?

Nice work so far. Not a big fan on the aggressive wheels, but to each his own. I'm in the process of saving an 06 TSX myself.

Re: Black Magic's Acura TSX Thread
As far as your switch problem : Why do you need to run a harness and switch through the firewall? Doesn't it plug into the connectors that are already present on the factory harness?

Re: Black Magic's Acura TSX Thread
Thanks for the info. I know where to tap in, but I don't know where to run the harness through the firewall. Was trying to find a grommet on the driver's side that's near the fuse box. I will look harder though.
I don't mind the wheel fitment. a 5mm higher offset would have been better but I think I can live with things the way they are

As far as your fog lights, why not use the factory connections provided on the under dash harness and head light harness to connect your fogs to the switch inside the car?

Re: Black Magic's Acura TSX Thread
The fog lights come with their own switch to turn them on/off (it goes on the bezel next to the sunroof and VSA switches) so I'd prefer to use the switch instead of connecting them to the headlight harness. I didn't notice a factory connection for fog lights under the dash, but even if there is one, I will need to run the wires for the fog light switch through the firewall... preferably somewhere near the driver's side. I was rushed when I was doing it, so I'll take a closer look this weekend and hopefully figure it out.

I'll see if I can squeeze it in the the engine harness. If not, I'll drill a hole as you suggested. Thanks for the input!

So far I like this build. Clean, simple but effective. What coilovers did you finally decide to go with? I know they are Teins but which one? They don't seem like the Street Advance.

^ Thanks man. The coilovers are Tein Flex.
I ended up lowering the car a bit.
I also test fit the brakes over the weekend. Looks like I'll need to use spacers for the wheels to clear the calipers. I don't want my wheels sticking out any more, so I might sell them and find another solution.

Re: Black Magic's Acura TSX Thread
Before I decide to ditch either the wheels or the brakes, I want to try to make them work. Everything would be fine if the rotors were maybe an inch bigger and the calipers sat further from the hub since the spokes on the wheels get thinner and bend outwards. Otherwise I'll need about a 10mm spacer. Gonna take some time to think about it and do some research before I make a decision. I already bought extended studs in case and I do have spacers already which came with the rotors & brembo calipers.
Anyone know if there's an S2K kit which combines a bigger rotor and relocation brackets for the caliper? I really want to use these DC5 brembos but if it doesn't end up working I may get a bbk like the stoptech one.
