Re: 98 Civic DX Hatch build (pic heavy)
so ah update once again...so spent the whole afternoon running for parts...
first stop was to pick up a skunk 2 intake mani.....paid 150 for it. rushed through checking it over and now im kicking myself in the *** for it....to the people who read this and dont understand metals you need to learn what the word "TORQUE" is........apparently this kid got the mani off of slappy before i bought the build and had it on his car for like a month.....i got a lot of cleaning and fixing to do before it goes on my car....
besides romping on the aluminum its dirty
hmmm found a thread competly stripped....nothing left stripped.....looks like ill be drill and taping at work monday
and its full of oil saw it but didnt think it was this bad FML:
im thinking it might get bead blasted all over to match all the other bare metal parts i blasted, plus blasted metal looks sexy as hell ;D
got the sub-frame almost done, im picking up bearings and ball joints for the front knuckles tomorrow. monday ill press the knuckles apart and blast and paint them, my goal is to have the front suspension on by next wed at best and friday at worst.....

so i picked up some more goodies this week, and just a side note with this build and picking up parts here and there i met some pretty awesome people along the way and im not even close to being done! anyway i went to the middle of no where to pick up my climate control conversion. got it off a guy parting out an ex was a really cool guy and i was able to teach him a few things and he gave me a pretty fair deal on all the stuff too. paid 50 for the duct work blower harness (minus the sub-harness- picked up up on ebay for 25 and the duct for the center vents -25 new) spent all this evening getting it cleaned up and swapping things here and there to make it as clean as possible. i used some misc pieces from my old hatch as well as the new stuff. still gotta clean the ***** up to perfection. there was only one scratch on the climate bezel and its really not even that bad :D
heres the centers side by side, not much difference except for the electric switch
cleaned up some of it already
everything but duct to center vents

I always said Larry should it kept the car and finish it but **** happens. The good thing is u r doing it right and u arent doin it half assed. Hopefully i get to see it this summer along with my ek hatch too. She should be done by the end of may/june. GLWB.

im pretty much just taking over for larry, i liked the way he operated and i operate the same way myself...ill be lucky if i get the actual shell done this summer. as far as the motor, that wont be done for a good while i got big plans for it, and with me saving to buy a house money is tight....its just nice to work on a car that you know you dont need to get done to drive work tomorrow lol

Re: 98 Civic DX Hatch build (pic heavy)
no larry did nothing of the sort, the dude went all out and did it right, he REMOVED all the sealer and welded it up....when i bought it he told me he had 80 hours in the bay alone, and i know removing that sealer is a pain in the ***....but to do it right you have to
