Thanks. I'm located in Suffolk, VA. At the moment the engine is out of the car. Had low is compression (170-185) . Motor still ran strong but started to smoke. The head is at the machine. 2 slightly bent valves and a lot of play in all of the exhaust valves. New guides, valves and seals. Also rockers on exhaust side had alot of wear. Replaced rockers and will be installing new cams. Will be taking the short block in for inspection also. Where in VA are you located?

Latest Update. Bores on b20 block are out of round. Need to bored out to 84.5 to fix. Still waiting to get the head back. But then have to get funds together to pay for that and the block and get them to check the crank. One of the rod bearings will not stay in the rods also. Trying to make it to a HPDE in February at VIR. In the meantime I have things I need to do the car. ABS delete kit. Sand and rewrap the hood etc.

Ordered and received 84.5 ycp pistons. Before the last event I ordered a mfactory helical diff with stage 1 race pack. Should be getting the head back this week. Its ready just needed to gather funds.

are you using the stock b20 sleeves? typically they are not known to be very strong and will crack eventually, event with a girdle and block sleeve

Stock b20 sleeves. I was worried about it also but machine shop stated that I should be fine 84.5 all motor. Also research on 84.5 builds showed I should be fine also.

Got the head back from the machine shop a few weeks ago. New GSC valves, guides and seals. Machine shop stated my previous head had a lot of issues. 2 slightly bent valves, All exhaust guides had way too much play.

Dropped block off to machine shop yesterday. Decided while the motor is out to delete ABS (it hasn't worked since I've owned the car). Bought the valex racing kit a year ago as well as some stainless brake lines. I will probably buy banjo bolts for the master cylinder to clean it up a little. Deleted ABS and cleaned up the Prop Valve.

Thanks man, it wont be the cleanest but little by little I will try to remove the clutter. I wont be doing any wiring. Not comfortable with it and not enough time to try and tackle any issues if they arise. I have a goal for a track day in February that I want to get to. We will see.

Working on low budget mods now. Funds are a little tight especially since I'm trying to do 2-3 track days this year. Was planning on getting a skunk2 ultra street but its probably not happening this year. Porting this knockoff skunk2 pro that I have. First thing I noticed when removing it from the head last year was the ports are off. Cylinder #1 was almost dead on even with the head \ oe gasket. But as your can see the ports move inward. I have seen cases of this on the web even with genuine skunk2 pro series manifolds specifically GSR's. The I decided to cut it open and shape the ports. This is my first time, I bought cheap carbide bits and a dremel extension. Dont have a long enough extension to go further into the runners. Bought a 1.5 inch flex hone for $20 that I plan to use to clean deeper into the runners.

Finished the manifold and got it welded at my job. Used dupli-color primer and cast aluminum paint. Came out ok. Much more silver looking than I thought but oh well.
