Thanks man. Seen you posting on here for a long time. I have actually been on this board since it started too. Went through a little change years ago and decided to change up my username after not posting for a long time.

Keep in mind folks, this is not a show car build. I have not done any body work to the car nor have I stripped the underneath and got crazy with all that. I have cleaned up a ton of parts and resurrected an old machine from certain ricer death. I did get underneath the car with a pressure washer and scrub it up some. Probably washed 10lbs of mud, grime, and spider webs out from under it though. It might not look like it, but it is a lot better than it was.

Ohhhh, new wheel bearing up front too. Forgot to mention that until now.

Got some more work done today. More work on the fuel pump hanger and I think it is about done. It should work, I do not see why it wouldn't. I had the fittings clocked where they were aligned a little nicer, but then the fuel lines would not have been routed like I wanted them. Who cares, it is going to be out of sight, as long as it works fine who really cares.

Got the rear suspension back on the car, maybe a few other little things. Nothing too spectacular.

Did you not even look at the pics I posted up? Clearly there is a pic of a turbo in there.

Finished up the rear brakes today. Been told I was going to die because I am still using drum brakes in the rear and not using a brake booster. Not to worried about it right now. I do not plan on racing from stop light to stop light, plus a lot of guys race cars that have manual brakes and drums in there rear. At least I put some new brake shoes in there and put some SS lines all around.

I managed to bleed the brakes tonight. All went pretty well with that. Feels good to scratch one more thing off the list. Even got the wife to get out in the cold garage and pump the brakes for me while I bled them.

Almost fell asleep lying on my creeper underneath the car at one point. Wouldn't be the first time I have done that.

Since I do not have room and my radiator did not come with a filler, here is where it is going.

Got my FPR and boost solenoid mounted.

Box full of more goodies that my friend just dropped off from welding them up.

I have been slacking, as I knew that I would on a build thread. I did post up a little start up video not long ago.

Thanks for the compliments. I cleaned up the bay quit a bit on this thing and then finished it off with a nice coating of bed liner material to give it that real show car touch.

It has been really cold here for a couple weeks now so I have not messed with it much. Got in some parts for it the other day, but my garage does not currently have heat and as I type this my phone is telling me it is 16° outside, that means it might be 20° in my garage. It gets a little painful working in those conditions.

Some of the super high end exotic suspension that is being utilized.

Had a couple of the rims fitted with some old Azenis that were given to me. They will work fine on the back of the car. Still have some miles left in them.

Ummmm, thanks. They are the super expensive ebay coilovers. One set came on the car the other set was given to me by a friend.

I know of a certain car that is super fast. Back in the day when it was super fast during that time it had Ractive coilover sleeves in the back with cut Prelude front coil springs for the rear suspension. On the front I think it had stock EG hatch coils and some struts. It worked really well for that car. For my car I have two sets of front coils for both the front and the rear. Personally, I have used custom coil rate Ground Controls and had good results and I have used cheap Goldline lowering springs and had decent results with those. All of my setups I have used regular old KYB struts. Never had a high dollar suspension setup, but it worked for me.

Here is a pic of another part I just picked up on the cheap cheap.

Also, since it was not frigid outside I opened up the garage door and did a little work on it. Cleaned up the wiring some and made a little panel to mount the underhood fuse box and the ECU to. Turned out alright and not a bad use for an aluminum skid plate that was removed from a trike. Try not to pay attention to how dirty the floorboard is. This car was full of and still has a lot of red dirt on the inside. I vacuumed a lot of it out a while back, but obviously there is still dirt there. That will all be cleaned up soon and I have some more carpet that will be going back in. Another thing I did not do was remove wiring from the car that was not going to be used. Just did not feel like it honestly. So I taped it all up and tucked it in behind that little panel I made. I am not really concerned with the weight savings of removing all of that wiring either.

Also, I decided to risk it and buy one of these. I have read a few things online and it seems most people have had decent luck with theirs using it as the actual battery for the car instead of just an extra battery dedicated to the stereo. Years ago I used a lawnmower battery I bought from AutoZone and never once had a problem with it for the duration that I had the car. Used it for about a year or so and never had a hiccup. I have already started my car with this battery, so I know it will work, just not sure how long.

Been debating on where I want to mount it. Originally I had planned to mount it behind the bumper on the passenger side. But, now I am thinking I may just mount it up near where I have the ECU in the passenger floorboard.

I love how much room the EF chassis has with a K series engine.

Got my downpipe and dumptube fitted to the car today. It is a tight fit to say the least.

Keep in mind, this is or was supposed to be a "budget build." Nearly every part I have gathered for this thing is used or found for cheap. Having said that, I have still managed to eclipse the budget I had in mind and keep on going. Typical right?

I have got to figure out a way to reinforce my pedal assembly. A friend that is into EF's started making his own hydro clutch conversion for his projects. So he threw one together for me. It would probably be fine with a less aggressive clutch, but with the dual disc that I have the pedal assembly flexes big time when the clutch pedal is pressed.

I have a couple ideas. I have some bolts that I saved from a Chevy truck that are heavy duty and plenty long enough to stretch from the dash reinforcement bar to the pedal assembly. I could get some pipe collars and maybe weld a bolt or two to those and somehow reinforce it that way. The pipe collar would clamp onto the dash bar.

Here is a pipe collar:

I love builds like these.

That shell looks pretty clean as well. OEM paint looks relatively shiny and seems too be little rust.

Always wanted an EF, but can never find one…anywhere. Did pick up an old DA to play around with. The older lines just do something!

Good luck!
