15 year olds GS-R!!!

Re: 15 year olds GS-R!!!
all that aside, who cares how he got the money and the car. at least he seems like he isnt just some stupid punk kid that wants 20's, a fart can, underglows, PnP HIDs, a body kit, 2' spoiler, and wants people on here to basically install it all for him. he knows what he wants, and seems to have a pretty good idea how to do it all. how he got his money is irrelevant (and no i'm not a spoiled little punk trying to defend him. i've bought everything i own with money i worked for, mostly at $8.50 an hour. the closest i've come to free money is a couple hundred for graduation from my parents and my current cd7 was bought compleatly with a settlement from a company who's driver side-swiped the rear end of my integra.)

Wow hatin' a 15 year old's build thread. Guess you can't expect much else from honda-tech members. If you get money for christmas you can use it however you want, doesnt matter what relative gave it to you. It's still yours to use as you wish.
OP - nice progress, I wish I was able to get the front end for my 95 Integra. Continue doin' what you're doin'.

I was honestly just breaking your *****, because it doesn't really matter that much, but I'll answer your question.
There is big difference between money earned and money given. I never said you had to "pay them back", but you're not building this car with your own money, money you earned by working, unless you've been working at a $12/hr+ job while 15 to be able to afford a GSR, and then an R front swap. You mind if I ask where you got the money for your "old parts"?

Even kids with well off parents can get nothing from them if they are straight up punks. If someone gives you money, you must be doing something right. So if being given money for being a kid that isn't getting in and out of jail, getting high or shooting up, etc. Then in my eyes, he is earning that money, for being a proper person and not giving his parents a bad image. Not only that, but even if the money is just "given" to him, once it's in his hands, it's HIS money, not his parents, haha.
Either way, I'll be checking this thread from time to time to see how things are going.

Driving at 15 and a half, here in the UK you have to be 17 and thats still too young for some!
Can I ask, how do you do insurance over there? In the UK, at 17 they are limited to tiny 1.2 or 1000cc cars and pay around £2000, which would be just under $4000 dollars. None of them could insure a GSR!
Thats one of the reasons the USA is a cooler place to enjoy cars!
Nice car by the way, and sounds like well thought out plans. Good luck.

Re: 15 year olds GS-R!!!
Hey do your thing man.. All these guys are haters. If I had to comment.. (hahah I love saying that) I'd say that they aren't jealous of your car, or what you're doing to it. I'd say that they're jealous that you're putting the money you get from birthdays, x-mas, allowance, etc. towards something dope. I know that I spent all the money I got as a kid at taco bell, or the liquor store down the street. Granted, a car won't yield the BEST ROI, but it's better than cap guns or jerky from the liquor store.
When I was your age, I wanted a jdm front teg. When I was 17 I bought an em1, and I just recently sold it and bought a 99 teggy. Cars in the shop right now for body work. I already bought my front end. You're 5 years ahead of me man, good start.
I'll be checking back I'm curious to see how this goes! Oh btw, how much did you pick your front end up for? Just wonderin'. When I get around to it I'll start a build thread... eventually.

Re: 15 year olds GS-R!!!
I by no means was hating on you cause of your age or your money situation. I think its awesome kids younger then 18 are actually taking building cars as a hobby. I am jealous of the fact that you started at 15 or even before that because i didnt get into cars until i was 18 and then soon after that got bit by the honda bug. and this thread is long over due for pictures and updates
