if your just looking for numbers
and specifically want 250 hp
go turbo
NA is too expensive, and pushing those numbers out of a C1, I wouldn't call "reliable"

i hit 13s in my hatch with a stock jdm itr motor, and that was the funnest car i have ever driven...... mild build up on the gsr would hit 13s, 250 whp is extreme all motor, some of the guys running 11s are makin 240+

There is a couple gsr's with bolt on drag turbo kits, tuned with hondata, on slicks running high 12's at low boost/stock block. I've owned a turbo'd car....and it was the most reliable car that I've ever owned. Go turbo for the dollar amount, but remember...tuning is everything.

Let's say resleeved 84.5 mm bore, cr 12.5:1, pistons, rods, everything balanced, head work, valve train, stage 2 cams, good header and intake and hondata with good tuning. Maybe 240 whp. But why wouldn't it be relaible ??

Because no tuned engine is really reliable If You want to hit those numbers n/a and want oem reliability > K-series.
240whp b-series will be very expensive.. 12,5:1 is allright on our fuel here rev.. but I think in the states it won't be very easy to get some decent fuel like our 98 pumpgas at every pump :D *yeah baby!*
Even so.. I think hitting 240whp with that setup will be hard... very hard at 12,5:1 ... -> $$$

Re: (sti99civicsi)
12.9 ??? You mean 11.9 or is terrible slow !!!!!
Hahaha what up twiet ????
But i was hoping for some usa input hahaha. Because i don't agree.
I don't think a fully built gsr at 12.5:1 cr is not relaible. provided you have 94 octane at the pump and some good hondata tuning.
Please explain why it would not be relaible.

Re: (rev limiter)
250whp...LOL your going to spend a fortune on trying to even hit that. The setup you have now will have to change as far as headers and exhaust. Good luck, but that much WHP is not going to be reliable.
Suggestions on Header* Hytech, Toda, AN-r
Exhaust* which ever free flowing one you want it just needs to be 2.5 inch or bigger if you shoot for the 250whp.

maybe your definition of reliable is different from mine
What do I consider reliable? reliable to me is an engine lasting 100k miles without having to replace major parts.

Okee how about a 235-240 whp setup which has to last 50k miles. That is relaible enough for me. I think that must be possible.

Re: what i need for a reliable 250whp out of my b18c1 (rev limiter)
gettin 240 whp is still hard man, n/a power is so much harder on a motor then turbo power...... something to think about. and also i know guys running 220-240 whp and they still have to replace stuff, and its not as comfy to drive those cars as one would think

Isn't 250 a bit rediculous for a FWD car?
You really don't need 250 to hit 13's man.
You should check some swaps people have done on HT. You can hit 13's in a honda with less horsepower than you would think. Especially N/A
good luck with the car
If you want 250 though, i would go with a turbo set for economic reasons
