Default What caused my motor to do this to my spark plug

I'm really really pissed after spending about 5 grand on rebuilding my head and tuning my new setup @ 2 local shops here in Vancouver, if i say the name, people will know what shop i'm talking about

now after we pulled the spark plug out, we put a new one in place of it, cranked it over several times and no contact, but we know for sure the intake valves are bent

this happened in a 7500 rpm second gear shift into 3rd then the motor just shut down and the noise sounded like it ran over a bunch of pebbles

here is my setup
B18C5 Motor 86000km
Vtec Chipped P06 ECU
Hondata S200
Toda Spec C cams
Rocket Motorsport Valvetrain
Rocket Motorsport high compression valves
Stock Cam gears with Toda timing belt
B&M FPR
B&M FP guage
RC 440 INjectors

and here is a picture of how the timing belt looked like....btw on 4000KM on this belt and the head

Ummmmm something is seriously wrong to make your spark plug melt. And your timing belt looks horrible did you get it from autozone??? Stock cam gears with toda spec c's? And stock compression. How does the car run?
What didnt cause your spark plug to do that. Those cams have to be tuned. Atleast with a vafc wich wont even really help you. You will need a stand alone and some nice cam gears. Toda came gears are great. Start there, and get some compression for those damn things.

The car is tuned on a Hondata Unit......this is not supposed to happen when tuned
and that belt ain't no el cheapo one, it's a Toda, Paid 250 CDN for it

car runs a bit better than stock and my CR is about 11.2

That doesnt look like a toda to me, and how did you tune properly without the use of cam gears.

Thats a toda timing belt. That doesnt look anything like yours unless its some kind that ive never seen before.

it's a Toda belt
Local shop here tuned it with a Hondata s200
it wasn't dyno tuned, it was street tuned to get the car running safely

Hmmm well that sucks man. I hope you figure this out, because when something like that happens, its not just a small problem.

i highly suggest that you get the toda cam gears.....i know its sound stupid but you might rip the threads out of the cams.....you also my want to check if thats loose

when i yanked the valve cover off, i was suprised to see no red on the belt
but i figured that it wore off on one of the pullies.
there is a slight hint of red left though

Also part of your problem is TODA cams are SUPPOSED to be used with TODA valvetrain because of the design of the spring. I have a feeling what could have happened is a valve didnt close enough and there was piston to valve contact, the valve broke off inside the combustion chamber and smashed the spark plug, bet you if you pull your head off you will find the head of a valve and a big hole in the top of one of your pistons, that plug was not melted, it broke.

Too hot of a plug may have contributed to the problem as well. Anytime you up the compression ratio, you need a cooler plug.

i think your timing not in the right place cus you bent your valves and your plugs hit the piston or it detonate bad that it melted the plugs i think its mechanical error cus your compression is low to have a piston to valve clearance...

Alright, after 3 hours, we pulled off the head and found a valve head embedded into the cylinder head
Result: hole in cylinder and metal shavings found in all cylinders oddley enough

well here are the pics

any input on how this happened?

Timing was way off. People who (tuned it) fucked it up bad. Could be a number of things. Call those ******** and tell them what happened. Did you do any of the assembly yourself??? If they did all of it then go back to them and make them pay for your repairs.
