Re: what cam is best for performance and dd?
i want some feedback from people that have had experience with either of these cams. my car is going to be a DD. and of course i'm gonna get a tune. i just don't want cams that have a super loopy idle.

There are TONs of other choices to use outside of the M24x series, as you'd be pressed to find a set as of now. Look to what your purpose of the car is, power goal, and need, and not just subjective characteristics like "lopey idle". that doesn't necessarily mean its an aggressive camshaft if it has a "lopey idle". It simply means that there is a larger primary lobe on the cam that matches with the secondary set.
Its best to check with your power goals, and start researching companies based upon their characteristics, your budget, and your use of the car. "Dynos" may help, but for a DD situation, don't tell the full story, anyway, so take them with a grain of salt.
Good luck.

310cc injectors will barely cover the utilization of the Spec B, so, look to the rest of your equipment and your 91 octane level as well as compression.

What other cams would you recommend then? Ive seen a simple b20vtec build pushing 240+ with pro 2s and
310 injectors. What about the m24's?

M24x A bit on the aggressive side for a "simple" B20VTEC.
WHAT IS YOUR HP GOAL and USABILITY? - Your question may seem simple to you, but with the choices available on the B-series VTEC platform, the answer to that question is important to where this thread will not go much further without you answering it.
People can assist, but they cannot read your mind, sir.

You have the displacement/airflow for a lot of cams.
Pro1's/Pro2 Type cams, anything in that realm of things.
Compression isn't everything, its just part of the equation of making power.
What is your budget, because right off the bat based upon what you've said.. price seems to jump out at you.

Cams with hotter primaries, in the range of 205 - 215 duration at 0.050 is the way to go.
The low cam power "sling shots" the power into the hi-cam.

I would recommend running the "hotter" primaries like rocket stated...
If you have a good, decent tuner who's good at the whole thing, I'd look into the dual big primaries, fock that staggered ****.

im gonna go with the m24xx's and see how that goes. im going to autowerks for a tune and to degree the cams. they charge a flat rate of 300 for both degree and tune. : )

Compression is a big factor with power, but so is octane (and ign timing). Don't use one without the other.
Budget is always tough, especially for NA, since we need a bunch of things to make decent power. It's not like turbo, where you can get a $300 Ebay turbo kit and make 300whp without even taking of the valve cover.

Re: what cam is best for performance and dd?
For longevity, you want cams don't hammer the valvetrain. Many cams don't have gentle ramps and you can hear this as loud valve tap. Sounds like "tat tat tat tat," or "cracka lack cracka lack cracka lack," if really bad.
There are some cams that make good power without "cracka lacking."

You have a nice engine package there but my first question would be what gearing/wheel tire combo and car is this setup going in ?
I would also not use the RC injectors and get some RDX 410cc units

Without getting in too much trouble here. The companies that make "Copycat" or "The same as company X" are usually not the same and the ramp rates are much steeper and not correct. Nor are they even close to being the same. If you want a quality cam. You need to get them from a quality company and a company that actually does the R&D.

I have never found Toda in there B series range to work that well in the 89mm stroke big bore engines in the smaller stroke they work very well,I know what Rocket means about tick tick clacky clacky valve train noises with some cams.
To the OP i know what I would use in your engine PM me and we will discuss it that way. Most recommend a cam WAY TO BIG for a DD
