Default what are the best builds of b series for 2012

i dont follow each one too closely and just now tried to search for some specs but couldnt find any

im interested to know as of 2012 what are the highest power builds that we have for:

b16 stock cyl bore

gsr/ITR stock cyl bore

and b20 vtec stock bore and bigger.

i just want to know what are the limits of each one when im gonna build my next b series.

i really want to stick with a gsr or ITR block if i can get some decent power out of it.
plus i already have a gsr block dont have to buy one

I'll start... Although not the highest, very respectable and built to be reliable.

87x85, 12.8:1cr, pro1s, rc440, cut/ported ITR IM, 2.5" full exhaust.... 232/167 dynojet on 93octane and Florida heat.

Talk to TB Motorworx, they have the fastest All Motor B series car. I'm sure they'll share some insight.

curious as to why u chose to not use a 89mm crank in this setup?
a specific reason? or just cuz its what u had at the time?

Pretty sure TB won't share any insight. I PM'd them a while back prior to building my motor, and didn't even get a reply. I didn't ask for their whole motor set up, just a few basic questions and was ignored. I went on to build my motor and made great power for a small motor utilizing off the shelf parts.

This question is missing a few things, such as power goal, use of the enigne, budget, room to grow in future.

There plenty b20vtec stock block that make alot of power thread is there for u to look at

And choosing between 2.0 vs 1.8 its obvious that 2.0 will make more power and torque

daily driver
power goal thats why i ask i dont know what are the limits of each block with stock bore.
budget id say 5000 dollars doing most of the work myself.
resurfacing and head porting done at a shop of course

im pretty much contemplating if i should get head worked on and trade my BC3+ cams for pro1s/pro2s or start a whole new b20 build cuz i spend tonns of cash already on this and was kinda disappointed with the results.

can i expect around 250whp out of a gsr motor? daily driven?pass emissions maybe?
alot of higher number gsr blocks have been bored out more than stock

if i keep the gsr im keeping the 81.5mm bore max

No,no and no.the most ive seen out of a 81.5 is 240hp but his headwork was top of line.12.5comp with pro2 cams.but im not sure if that was to whp or crank hp.

Ur better off goin turbo for about 3k and make much more.all motor is hard to get 24and cost $$$ for headwork + headers

now that i go through evans tuning updated dyno section it seems like gsr block with ctr pistons is very popular combo, and they seem to be doing fine with pro1 cams.

when i built mine i was scared that valves would make love to pistons and explode my engine lol.

i added my engine specs into signature that way i dont have to type it over and over

i was reading about b 20 builds that rods go pretty often on those and then cylinder walls.

As Someone else mentioned TB would be the fastest B series Build i've seen..

Depends on what you want to do with it though.. Street Drive? Full Drag Car..

Or you can see the B series Stroker i have in my Sig.. Ran high 10's on it with room for more as those runs were before i did some more work to the motor.

They won't give you the whole shabang, any of the known guys won't give you the shabang. They'll give you an idea though, at the least where machining was done, who's cams, etc but not the complete 411.

Nothing we already dont know. He's on rollers, he's on a myers header, he's got a custom intake manifold.. that doesn't help. These guys are looking for information not wanna be information.

TB doesn't share anything, i dont care who's who, you pave the way for people to become faster and smarter. I'm not hating or talking trash neither, its a plain fact. You think chris miller is sharing this information on FTW fuel because he wants to help the community? No, its simple. The fuel works, people will spend 48 bucks a gallon and he'll make money, people now and days are always about making that dollar rather then paving the way and maybe that person buying something bigger from you in the long run because you went out of your way on the first try to make a impression.

Thats the way i see things.

BTW, We've known TB has had the fastest B series for quite sometime, your random inputs in a thread, like "ask TB", " I would let TB port my head" yadayadayada make it seem like your a heavy ball rider. So quit it.

Because the motor was built with road racing/autocross in mind. BTW it's a King Motorsport build.

Last time I checked with King Motorsport they had a very similar build with 75k on it still going strong.

with custom parts? or off the shelf stuff?

typical jimmy in his garage builds with off the shelf parts and dyno tuning.

b16 : about 180whp

b18c : about 210whp

b20V : about 225whp

give or take say 10-20whp

more power is of course possible, every build is different, every dyno is different, just spoon feeding you what i think you want to hear =]
