Velocity stack "street setup"
I have thought about using a velocity stack on the street for some time now. There has been dyno plots showing nice gains so I thought what the hell and ordered a monster K&N filter that would fit the 6" stack. I got the short ram shorten down and there is just enough room for it. The bad thing is I have to relocate the battery and the smaller battery I have bought will not be good enough to use every day in the cold weather we have over here in Denmark. I will run this setup from march and on when I'm not depending of using my CRX. Give some thoughts about if this will work better than your normal style short ram etc.

Re: (Espec_rep)
Looks like a Prototype velocity stack you have there. K&N does make a smaller filter that you could use to give you some more room in the engine bay as well as more length on the intake tube. I use it on my car. I can get you the part # tomarrow when I go to work, if you want.
Here's some more info on velocity stacks for those of you looking ... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=756452
I have dynoed my Prototype V-stack on a few differant motors and there were gains on all from just adding it....
One motor made 3-6whp more every where(there was no hp loss any where) and lean out every where and in a few places as much as a whole point going from about 12.8 to 13.8. So futher tunning would have had larger gains than that. This motor is jdm_ef9 's, maybe he could post the graph.
Another made gains of 0-3whp. This meaning that there was no loss but seens gains of up to 3whp a various places.

Re: (Dyn0speed)
Thanks guys.... like I wrote in the first post I have not had a chance to run with this intake. The K&N filter is just a clamp on with part number RU-3280.
I got the velocity stack through Import Builders. As always Jeff hooks me up with the nicest things... to Jeff

Re: (Jonestown)
Bump... need more feedback on this setup. Will I need more length on the intake pipe to really make the difference from a short ram intake?

they are less than $20!
I dont know about using these though! Do they really make power? I have yet to see a dyno!

yeah that filter is too long, they make a shorter shorter k+n thats 6".
I got mine from DDD and it works perfect for my prototype stack. You can allow yourself some more room for a longer tube!!
