Default Upgrading my valvetrain...q about keepers!!???

My question is simple...do I get new keepers when purchasing a upgraded valvetrain kit like Isky, Supertech, Skunk2 etc...
Exospeed just mailed me that in a new Isky valvetrain kit comes the following stuff :

16 valvesprings
16 titanium retainers
8 exhaust spring locaters

I'm worried about the keepers, if I get this kit and use stock ones, can they fail or???

What about other valvetrain kits , do they come with new keepers??

Please help me!
I'm driving D16A6 EF.

Your stock keepers should be fine.

As far as I know, no aftermarket Honda Valvetrain kits come with keepers. Stock keepers are used with no problems.

the way i see it is how old is that motor, and how many miles are on it? the valve train is the most abused part of a engine. why risk it and take a chance of destroying a motor.

No. They cannot fail. They are the only part in an internal combustion engine that is impervious to failure.

Supertech's aluminum retainer kit comes with new 10 degree locks for their retainers. Doesn't Ferrea sell locks as well?

And what's about titanium vs. steel retainers?
Isky valvetrain kit comes with titanium ones, did they fail to anyone?

I believe they come with the locks since the alum retainers are made differently than the Ti retainers.

I used the Isky retainers for over 100K miles on a daily driver and alot of track racing. the whole idea of Ti retainers failing, is overhyped in my opinion. I have another b-ser that we've had Ti retainers for over 6 yrs with about 130K+ Miles on them. Never had an issue with Ti retainers.

God forsaken?!? Whats wrong with a aluminum/magnesium alloy retainers? They are supposedly 20% lighter than their titanium counterparts.

in a track only motor that is regularly torn down MAYBE you could argue this. those retainers break, crack and have no business in a street engine.

I am using the Manley Locks in my motor. They are pretty cheap and if you are doing the head anyway you might as well ugrade the keepers.
