so i installed a GSR head on my LS block about 2 weeks ago. im runing the car with uberdata which allows me to have VTEC open at idle (<20mph) when i rev it up to the set vtec rpm. now when i was under the hood the other day, i opened the throttle and VTEC engaged and then let go of the throttle. when the rpm started to die back down i heard this clicking noise (it only clicked once).
so i checked again and i opend the throttle up again and the same thing. (only happens when rpm is die n down after VTEC is engaged) i tried to pinpoint the noise but i couldnt come up with anything for sure. its def coming from the head. its not a valve lash problem, or VTEC solenoid opening. the only thing i could come up with is that the tick is coming from the vtec rockers disengaging once the rpm starts to drop back down.

im gonna disable VTEC < 20mph on uberdata and see if the nosie still comes up

Its probably just vtec disengaging, when the pins are coming back out. I mean it clicks when it comes out of vtec, so my first guess would be...it clicks when it comes out of vtec...

thats what im thnking. i'll verify this when i disable VTEC and rev the motor at idle
