are there any cast pistons that are better than oem?
went from stock itr pistons and got ctr pistons.. now i need another rebuild cuz the ring are shot.. so i only came up with nippon and rs machine cast pistons. but they are same as the itr pistons. i dont want to go back to itr pistons because it makes me feel bad and stupid. and what's the point of going back to the same pistons.. but i dont really like forged pistons because it's gonna stay n/a and i won't like oil consumption problem with forged pistons.. and noise and what not.. so is there anything out there i could use that is better than oem. ??any other options?

i am thinking of rebuilding my B18c5. that has CTR pistons in it. the CR is too high for me i want to lower it to around 11 something. i was thinking jdm itr pistons .. or some forged piston/rod combo. i want to make around 200 whp which i make right now. but i want it to be more reliable. so what's the pros/cons on forged pistons/rod over oem honda ones?
btw i'm running rm m22xx cams and 310cc injectors

There is oil consumption with forged pistons? Funny, I don't consume any oil.
Are you sure that isn't a rumor created by someone who either installed their bottom end incorrectly, and/or did not match the bore to piston (proper piston-wall clearance performed AFTER pistons are purchased and measured), and/or did not break in the motor properly??
You should do some research on the various forgings used in pistons. There are alloys that expand less than 'standard' cast pistons, and there are alloys that expand more than 'standard' cast pistons.
Not to mention forged pistons are generally lighter than cast pistons, and have better heat distribution so you are less prone to knock and thus you can make more power.

bought the car brand new. so obviously had usdm itr pistons.. then rebuilt the motor with ctr pistons. now i want to lower compression and replace the ring. the reason why my motor's burning oil. on the start up. i had mixed up harness connectors and the motor didnt wanna start and run properly. had to keep the throttle in order to have the motor running and this one guy ended up revving the motor almost to 7000 rpm on brand new motor.. i knew right away i needed another rebuild cuz i thought the rings are gone...
i thought some forged pistons are more likely to expend than cast and that's why you have to have bigger piston to wall clearance until the motor warms up. so that's why there's some oil consumption.

If you let the engine warm up before you drive it then it won't burn any oil. It's the price you have to pay.

I have forged pistons and have not had oil consumption issues... the motor doesnt make excess noise either. I remember people using arias pistons at least 4-5 years ago with piston slap issues but I dont think that is common anymore... don't quote me on the arias issue but my CP's dont have any problems...

JDM b16a pistons. They have slightly higher compression. I got a set from JDM hondaparts when they were still called JDM hondaparts

A friend ordered some itr pistons from them never got them, after two weeks tried to email but got no response and they wouldn't answer their phone either. He bought the same ones on ebay and they came in 3 days.
