Default So I decided to build a flowbench

Well I have been working over cylinder heads for quite a long time and was tired of being held back because I lacked the tooling to measure airflow (quality as well as quantity). I wanted to have the ability to manipulate airflow and also have the ability to measure and record data for further testing . So I decided to build a flow bench for my hobby shop. It will be capable of 450cfm-460cfm (Capacity can be increased with addition of motors, but it should be sufficient for the time being). Current orifice plate is capable of 335cfm. It is measured with a Digital manometer that consists of three pressure pick ups: One for static pressure (For my Velocity probe), Second static pressure pick up and a differential pressure pick up to make calculations more simplistic.
I have successfully flowed a d16z6 and H22a head so far. I have also flowed throttle bodies, intake manifolds, high flow cats and the bench has been great.
Send me some stuff to test!
Here is one of the only pictures I have currently. Let me know what you guys think.

Looks good. Make sure to use a radius entry when flowing inlet, and some sort of tubing when flowing EXH.

It has already been done. Picture was just a mock up. I need to get some action shots. Thanks for the input!

I forgot to mention. I will be receiving my pitot tubes either tomorrow or Wednesday. This will give me the chance to map ports and measure velocity.
The swirl and tumble meter is also in the works right now.

I put the head on the bench for you. Just cleaning up the castings I was able to get 280 cfm with stock valve size/valve angle. This is up from 272cfm I baselined it at. It has stock velocity rate, and minimal pressure drop. It is a nice head, and it has quite a bit to go still! HTH!

Update: I got my Velocity probes in today. The bench is fully operational now.
I have had many cylinder heads on the bench so far. All with good results!
Now send me some things to flow test!
