on a 1.8 with 12.1 compression 200whp is great. what more can you expect.

200whp in a sub 2000 civic/crx is fast /deacent
200whp in a 2600+ pound car is slow as hell

Try balancing your cylinder compression with a small can of Engine Restorer from Napa or Pepboys. I think you will be pleased and surprised.

my buddy has a similar setup

he made 8 more hp with buddy club3 cams than he did the pro2's

he has a little more compression than you, a jdm dc 4-1 header and a skunk2 intake manifold. my dyno reads pretty low, he made 202 with the bc3's, we swapped in pro2's and it only made 194 and lost alot in the mid range, 8-10ft lbs in some places.

What was the cam timing with the Pro 2's? Just curious

the head is milled and the block is decked alot, the kid that owns it assembled everything and im not gona try to degree some **** w/the motor in the car....... so that being said, exhaust is about +1 intake is 0. w/those cams even the smallest change made huge drops in power

one thing to note though.. the engine carries out alot farther in the rpms w/the pro2's both peak around 8600 rpms, but at 9200 rpms the pro2's make around 8hp more than the bc3's

That explains a lot. I understand why the Pro 2's were not set to optimum. Set properly those cams will smoke the BC3's.

Just curious, who tuned your motor? Unfortunately there are a number of people in our area that claim they can tune motors but really have little to no clue what they're doing. My set-up was just tuned recently by the best tuner in our area and the results were very satisfying for me.

We share very similar opinions on cams in 1.8's. Overcammed engines are all to common. This engine will wake-up more when the cat is opened and exhaust is switched out for a 2.5 inch. But, proper tuning will still be the key to making good power on the dyno.

I believe that Redline Performance has a fairly accurate Dynojet . Hopefully the OP will confirm this for us.
