Hehe. Where've you been? Circuit racers have been doing that swap for about 3 years... Glad you happened up on it. In fact, its now an option you can purchase through the factory.

K swapped Elises & Exiges are all the rage. Not sure why Lotus didn't team up with Honda instead of Toyota in the first place, the K is a vastly superior motor imho.

yes its very popular in Europe on the original Elise/Exige. However it is definitely not an option you can purchase through the factory and the swap has only been done to a few cars here in the US so far anyways..

I know of five federal elise/exige which includes my Exige but I'm sure their are quite a few more that I not aware of. Now that innovative mounts has released their swap kits I know of at least 4 or so that are in progress right now. There are a few S1 Elise Exige here with the swap as well.

I've seen a B16A in an S1 Elise too. That typical bwwaaaarp you get from a canned B series really suits the little Lotus actually!

I have seen one of those too! I'd love an s1 exige but not being able to drive it on the street is a killer for me.

Looks like they should have made the Lotus with a k-motor all along. Wonder why they chose the 2zz motor - I can't think of a single benefit from using that motor...

Odd... Lotus is a low volume manufacturer but I'd think Honda wants to sell as many engines as it can...

Allowing lotus to put the Honda motor in the Elise would put it in direct competition with the s2000. It already is a competitor but the Honda motor would have up it over the top.

Aren't these cars built to spec of the owner such as what motor they want to have put in? I could be wrong. Though I have seen h/b/k motors in lotus. Hell i Have seen a few celicas swapping in k series
