Re: poor mans type r build kicking my ***!!!
check sensors. you could have crossed them because i had two simple sensor crossed and my fan wouldn't cut on and the idle was running low..
Then i switched them around once i figured it out with my buddy, and then my idle was at 1500.. and i was likt WTF????
Come to find out, i had just a lil vacume leak on the back of the intake manifold where cruise control use to be. so i fixed that.
Then finally you know with all that the idle drops back down and idle sucked so bad, if the car was cold it wouldn't stay idle. So the IACV was clogged and now everything fine.

Re: poor mans type r build kicking my ***!!!
it's idling around 600-800 once it gets warm with occaisional 500rpm dips. its hunting running rough, and it seems to get warm right after you start it. i believe its timing, but i really dont know. im using a gsr timing belt, do i need a type r belt? is there a difference?

Re: poor mans type r build kicking my ***!!!
still cant get this thing right..FFFFUUUUCCCCKKKK!
i checked timing again, got it absolutely perfect... took crank pulley off lined up timing gear marl to oil pump arrow, lined up cams properly.. now the car wont start unless the dizzy is turned all the way toward the radiator. and it hardly even ran like that. i timed it before with a extension in cylinder #1 at tdc, both cams marks lined up, arrows up. and it started right up runs 1200-1300 rpm's for about 30seconds , then it drops down and hunts 600-800. but it would also hesitate when you gave it throttle, and when it warms up you give it throttle 4k,5k then let it drop car will stall.

It turned out to be that my cams were both off a tooth. My cam gears marks were pointing directly up and it barely ran... rotated them the same direction that the dizzy was one tooth solve the problem. Headmilling shortens the head which rotates the cams a lil bit.

Re: poor mans type r build kicking my ***!!!
Hey, this is the solution. It's either you got the map senor and throttle positioner sensor's wires clips mixed up, make sure you didn't plug one into the other because they are right next to each other!!! I did that back then and my car ran like crap. Or you have a code 9 problem, which is top dead cylinder positioner sensor that's located inside your distributor!! If you got an extra one laying around try it out, or if your friend or someone you know has one, try it out. I'm positive it's one of those unless you got a vacuum leak somewhere, but even a vacuum leak will not cause you to stall, it's mainly and only one of those two reason's I just wrote about. Thank me later.
One other thing, your throttle positioner sensor might not be placed properly, it might be set on too wide of open throttle or too low etc.. You might want to try to adjust that too! There. One of those should solve it.
!!!! Most likely it's the distributor!!!!! Sometimes it doesn't throw a code!

Re: poor mans type r build kicking my ***!!!
Your first ecu was the ecu to keep then, cause this ecu sucks and doesn't tell you ****. Trust me, now forsure it's the distributor. I had that problem and drive my car all day like that, it has no power for ****, sometimes the check light comes on and sometimes it doesn't, and it still runs like ****. After the new distributor it runs like a champ.

3 weeks ago people have been telling him some plugs are switched, he is very confident there not. Hes also positive theres no vacuum leak.
Your absolutly right about measuring the tps voltage and giving a Tps Report, but no word on that so theres one thing there not ruled out. Even if it has not been changed or messed with, it should still be checked and ruled it out.
Bully-
I would have already tried a different distributor by now for sure.
Also for all we know like salsa said there still could be an issue with the mechanical timing.
If you cant see your timing marks w/the connector jumped then theres either a problem with the mechanical timing or a spark issue related to the distributor, or even plug wires out of order.

Re: poor mans type r build kicking my ***!!!
yes i will try the dizzy swap as soon as i can. i will also check the tps when i do that. the reason i hadn't tested the tps is i don't have a meter. im getting one asap.
