Pointers, Advice, with my NA B20vtec build?
Sup all... Alright i got a B20z block and GSR head. Im going all motor looking to get atleast 220hp at the wheels and trying to do high 12s if not low 13s. This is how my setup is looking now: Aem fuel rail FPR Cold air intake, DC 4-1 header, CC stage 4 clutch and 10lb flywheel, GSR tranny with a spool.
Im looking to go with Rs machine type r spec pistons, Sleeve the block to 84.5, A thicker head gasket (dont know which one yet), Blox stage 2 cams or Type-B as i say redo the whole valve train to Blox, Blox Cam gears, Port and Polish head, Hondata s300 with a good tune .. Hopefully
Any advice, pointers, and opinions will be appreciated... thanks

1) Lose the DC header, if you wanna make real power your going to have to go something a step up.. Kiddheaders, SMSP, Skunk2, Hytech...
2) You dont need to sleeve your b20.. infact b20 sleeves are very strong, the only problem people run into with b20 sleeves is the fact that they are **** to low rpm IGN failure because they are thinner then most b series blocks.. but they are not weak..
Get a block guard installed by a machine shop, make sure the cyls are still round and make sure its in correct hone and u should be good.
3)Replace the stock b20 pistons, you dont have enough valve relief in there for a peace of mind.. Replace your rod bolts as well and get you some good head studs GE or ARP.
Everything else looks nice i guess.. but your motor will thank you for a good Header setup and good Exhaust.. to make power you gotta be able to breath.

Im going with Rs machine pistons (type-r spec).. i agree with the hedders and thought about that too. I do have a buddy club spec 2 exhaust dont know
how thats gonaa go with the set up im pretty sure good though. Anyone else running a buddy club spec 2 on a NA build?

Re: Pointers, Advice, with my NA B20vtec build?
why a thicker headgasket? why not thinner? or OEM.
thicker will lower your compression...
DC is garbage...even the 2.5 jdm collector...get a hytech or a copy if on a budget.
no need to sleeve the block..just a good machine shop to overbore .5 mm
otherwise that setup pending chassis/weight/suspension should get your goal time quite easy.

just did one with pro2, stock itr head n IM, made 225/162. all the above are good advice, stock rods will do just fine, make sure the rotating assembly is well-balanced. bigger IM might help, and of course a GOOD TUNE. good luck.

If you are going to sleeve for 84.5, why not 85mm or 86mm! You will pay one time for the sleeving and one time for the pistons.
I kept mine at 11.8 c/r due to the octane of the fuel availability in my area and to keep it DD. I went with Wiseco pistons, good reputation!
Noticed that B20/vtec likes to REV past 8500 so have a set of rods also, that was for the block at least.
As for the head I have BC spec IV, I can't tell you to have them, still I am facing problems in dialing them, you can search the forum for the camshafts and you will tons of threads.
As for the gasket, with over bored block, you should consider Cometic, and I advise to be the same as O.E.M thickness 0.030" as I recall, or try dh-racing they have good reputation in N/A cars, I personally tried their over bored throttle bodies, great item.
Choosing Competition Clutch stage 4 is good idea, I have stage 5 and I broke 2 stock axles same day after I finished my clutch breaking in.
You didn't mention the fuel setup, means bigger injectors and pump!
Also I would like to mention, your mounts seems stock, try to have after market mounts personally I prefer Innovative steel, Hasport are good, cause I tried both, innovative were better.
N/A good number cars like weight reduction, that black front beam is very heavy, also remove or replace with carbon fiber or thin layers of fiber glass what ever you can replace, I have the civic and I remove the sunroof for a thin piece of plexi!
These are some points i hope they were helpful.
Thanks
