Default The Mystery Header Revealed

As promised after SEMA i would release all the pics i have of the new "mystery header"

Lets get right to it
Shot of header installed on an EG Civic with LSVTEC, Mishimoto Radiator

GROUND CLEARANCE PICS, car has 15in Wheels and is lowered approx 2.5in

This is what i know about it

2.5in Collector
BRUSHED Stainless Steel Construction
-header i was sent was polished but ive been told the production will be BRUSHED
-Tig Welded
-2 Piece design
-FITS AC AND PS
-FITS ALL CHASSIS CIVIC,INTEGRA, CRX, DA etc

Ill keep my review short, we all know the design this header is based upon, and it works. I was pretty impressed with the quality and workmanship. The 2 piece design makes it a BREEZE to install, took me less than 1 min on any of the cars i tested.

As far as pricing or ordering info, I believe the manufacturer is getting in touch with the "advertising" people on here and will have a thread shortly.

Enjoy

i never thought about a 2 piece from that ppart of the header. seems like u could do this header install with the car on the ground pretty easily.

Seems the ground clearance on this piece is similar to downpipes on ITR style 4-1.
Or would you say its a little better from what youve seen?

I would say it is MUCH better than the JDM 4-1. This car was pretty slammed on the ground

Since Randy went down, there are quite a few copies of his headers being sold.

If I already own an RMF Narrow, can I assume it performs and fits identically to this copy?

yes i have installed prob more NARROW RMFs than os people on here, this header fits the same , actually i like this one better because it is a 2 piece, it makes install WAY easier than the original RMF NARROW

...and the quality - identical or maybe better or is this an area where costs were cut?

I'm assuming that they are equal length? How long are those primaries? Are they tuned for a specific engine build or are they generic? Or is that the secret.....

Hoestly they look like a set of equal length 4-1 block huggers from a Domestic V8 muscle car.

Quality is excellent. If they had sent me some junk i wouldnt have even tested it as it wouldnt be worth my time.

The material is nice, i actually put it in a box an threw it off a 2nd story building to see if it would break, it didnt.

The slip fits were nice, really easy to put together an there was no exhaust leaks.

If you remember ALOT of the original RMFs broke, this is made from much stronger material, and its stainless steel as opposed to MILD steel the old versions were made of.

best of all there wont be a 1.5 year wait

What grade is it made of? It also looks like it will melt the stock fan? The welds also look to be snag ground in some places, is this the case?

if you run a full size fan you will have to trim the shroud about an inch, but this was the case with the original RMF as well.

Welds are actually really nice, the same or better than any other production header i have seen. remember this was a prototype too, the final version will be brushed stainless steel, and should be a bit more "polished" than this one.

It will fit CRX and DA integra but you MUST TRIM THE FRONT CROSSMEMBER

there were some tri-ys a long time ago that were breaking at the flange in shipping. I wanted to see how this stacked up.

The flange is thick, the holes are centered, it was pretty durable

Add the link to this page, when the manufacturer of this header creates a thread. Thanks. Looks like the new replica of the month.
