everything looks clean, very nice build.
What are you going to tune it on?...cant wait for numbers!

It's not necessary but I had it from a previous build so I used it. I will be using hondata s300 for tuning.

I'll be doing a bigger bottom end this winter either 85x89 or 85x92 depnding on funds.

Hey thanks man, I wish I could get things done faster but my family comes first. I'm still up in the air about what type of manifold to get. I want something that will be good enough for a bigger engine for next year too so keep that in mind if you have suggestions.

Any comments as to which intake manifold to go with?

If a detailed parts list with pics and partial details of an engine and tranny assembly don't count as tech then maybe 99% of the threads here don't count.
Here's I get from this thread,
(1) a well thought-out engine parts list, tried and true.
(2) a very clean engine build with some details about the clearances
(3) I had never seen a graphite coated shaft, I think it is interesting.
(4) many people ask about the girdle, here's a oppurtunity to ask a user first hand questions.
(5) many noobs don't know what a RS PR3 piston is heres a very good pic.
(6) a teardown and re-assembly of a transmission
(7) this will also help people to understand where to spend there monies on power production parts. Instead of 440 injectors, fuel pumps, etc.
Here's what I would like to see added.
Bearing clearances
Piston to wall clearances
Torque specs, etc.
Cams degree'd in
Show valve lash being set
Output after tuning (Dyno runs) and time slips
1 2 NV for a guy like you, this build may be a blog but for others especially the noobs this can provide them with a lot of insite especially considering it comes from a very good non-professional (hobbyist) builder.

Re: My ls/vtec build up!!! (mar778c)
maybe i should have posted a at the end. your absolutely right mar778c.
my advice with this build is to make sure the retainers clear the valve seals when at full lift. its well known that the pro 2s need "special" cam gear tuning to even run them without failure.

Is that the new high performance dual countershaft racing transmission?
Looks like a solid build

To each its own, but your head isn't even ported and you want to run Pro2's.....
On a side note I like your gearing setup.

Might you define "special cam gear tuning" for me? I do know about v2v and p2v clearance issues. I liked your right up those two topics. They were very informative.

I know I cant wait to go through the gears on this thing. Should be pretty quick through them. Well I would have had the head ported but the one I have is milled A LOT (original owners machine shop milled it unevenly ) which leaves no room for resurfacing it for the next rebuild. I might replace this one with a virgin b16 ported head for the bigger bottom end.

I think I have only seen the above typed out before on only 1 or 2 threads. Everyone is always so amazed by shinny parts but some of us could care less. The above topics should be discussed more often in the all-motor forum. I'm still amazed at all the thread where people ask what cams, header, and intake manifold to run. Those are the only threads in the all motor forum unfortunately.

Re: My ls/vtec build up!!! (goforbroke)
Nice build. I am building the same thing now. I am maybe a few hours ahead of you. I put the head on today. Just waiting for a new water pump to come in.
The only thing I read up a lot about from Endyne's website and heard from other good engine builders is that when you run big cams like the Pro2's you will blow the LMA's fast. What they do is actually deepen the hole the LMA's sit in so that gives them more room to move instead of bottoming out right away and blowing them causing the valves to tick. Also machining the valve seats a little too. There was a lot of little things and machining that needed to be done to run big cams right.
go to endyne's website and read up on their build.
I'll be making a post with my build in a few minutes.

looks like a great build... did some similar things but just with my ITR block instead of LS/V... cant wait to see numbers...
