JUST BIULT B18C5 in trouble HELP HELP car starts and it dies out
Ok. here is my situation.
i have multiple problems here
just rebuilt my B18C5
M22xx,ctr piston,310cc rc,chipped ecu P28
- Car will ONLY start with at least 20% of throttle
- car starts and it dies out right away with no throttle
-[ i can hold/pump the throttle to have my car running] (using my stock ECU)
- i can hold/pump the throttle to have my car running for few seconds and it dies out and the light in my ecu blinks as my PGM-FI relay(under the dash, fuse box) kicks in
when i take the key out or turn ign. off the sound stops.
(running chipped P28 with RM chip,)
- this ECU was working fine on my stock motor
-tried adjusting the idle screw , didnt work
-tried adjusting distubutor, didnt work either
-car has removed 2nd o2 and purge controll because i was running obd1 ecu
any help would be Great
thanks honda tech

I agree. If everything is plugged in correctly and all of your sensors are good then I would be willing to bet that your map is running too rich.

Re: (Honda-bond)
rockets chip should be set enough to where it will atleast idle.
In cases where i have seen the car not be able to idle, its not getting enough fuel. To see if it just needs to be tuned or not, if you have an adjustable fpr, bump up the pressure and see if it wants to idle.
another thing, get the motor up to operating temperatures and then see if it will idle. Thats another way to find out if it needs to be tuned or not.

Re: (itralex)
thanks guys for the help
the ecu was bad(OBD1 ecu ) i dont know how that got fired
. i got my car to start with my stock obd2 computer and stock injectors.
what could go wrong if i run CTR pistons and M22xx cams. with stock computer????
i have my map senser disconnected right now and it idles low
when i have the map senser connected it was idling at like 1500 when it was warm
and i have my 2ndary o2 disconnect because it was busted and i was previously running obd1 ecu.
i am still waiting on my parts (adj. fpr, fuel pump)
considering my engine management being **** right now the motor seems to run really nice and i can feel the something monstrous is chilling under the motor.
i just have to free him up

Re: (itr1244)
dont risk running ur car with ctr pistons and m22 on stock ecu.. i done these stuff before and it just leads to more problems just do it correctly and get something for a tune.. u can go wit crome.. its cheap and effective right now.. and go back to obd 1 is better for tuning. and in my opinion ctr pistons with m22 cams would be a nice street setup..
