JDM H22 Back from the dyno
Made it to the dyno on Friday afternoon. Hot as expletive and muggy. I dont have a graph right now, as i am waiting for John (phearable.net) to send me the graphs.
I did the tuning myself with some help from John. He has an awesome step process on tuning cars and it definitely shows that he knows what needs to be done.
With all that said, i made 173whp and 139wtq. Before anyone goes saying "man thats low for your mods," the numbers really arent important to me. I know the motor is healthy and there is no point in comparing dyno graphs from other cars and other dynos. I'll know how it REALLY performs once i get to a track.
anyway, the car runs great. The power between shifts now is much more consistent/smooth and more powerful. I am happy with how everything turned out. My torque graph is nice and flat and my HP is a steady smooth curve. Once i get the graph from John, i will post it up.

Good to know you're tuned now. It is a little lower than I would expect. I thought the RMF header would put you at 190whp or so. So, did you get your idle/start-up things all lined out. I talked to you on AIM once about how it takes my car 2 attempts before it starts up. Does yours start up like a normal car?

thats just a link to my ITB thread. Things kept going wrong with them (throttle linkage and fouling plugs). And i wasnt about to be paranoid my whole trip, wondering when something was going to go wrong. So i did the SMART thing and put the IM back on.

Damn bro. I dont want to rain on your parade, but those numbers are really low! Those were the kinda numbers i'd see when people were getting their cars tuned with just a VAFC and a DC sports header like many many moons ago before SMS and RMF.

Re: (BolivianFuego)
like i said. The numbers arent important to me. If i can can run dead even with a 100mph h22 civic from 0-110, then i think its safe to say im making good power. Its damn near pointless to use other dynos as comparisons to other dyno graphs. 100+ degrees and high humidity levels dont help either. Could have been the fact that i have a dirty air filter. My tire pressure could have been low. The dyno could read lower than other dynos. Too many variables for me to be upset about some numbers that dont really mean much to me. The graph itself is much more important. My power didnt start dropping off til 7400 rpms, which is pretty nice in my book.
also, there was a b16 with 11.6:1 compression and skunk2 stage II's that only put down 160whp and 100ft lbs after an hour of Johns tuning.

Yea, i could see that. The real test is hitting the track. This is in a 5th gen prelude right?

Re: (DOHCVTEC190)
yes, its starts up and idles perfectly now. Had to adjust my idle though because the idle screw was WAY off.
Vtec crossover is 4800.

yea, 5th gen. Definitely going to be testing it out at the track in the near future.

Re: (DOHCvtecDX)
have you dyno tuned?
thats alot of timing.......there are completely built motors running less timing than what i am running. More timing doesnt always mean better.
