Hytech muffler, dont see many around
Well it took about 2months to get, a bunch of phone calls alot of waiting, but its finally here so figured id share the work of the muffler since i dont see many around.
I plan on running 2.5 exhaust with a resonator, no cat.
Im not posting this to hear ohh you paid to much or you could get just as quiet with resonators and ****, its a good quality product. I knew the price and the wait and im just sharing it, no soundclips yet.

Hey, can you take a pic of the inside of the muffler, from both ends if you can please. I'm trying to see what they did inside the muffler to understand how it works better.
Thanks!

I have a hytech exhaust system on my 95 HB... With addition of pro 1's, rmf narrow style header, and straight pipe, its pretty nice sound. There is nothing like it... You wont be disapppointed but too bad you couldnt get the B pipe unless you did...

You don't see many of them around because:
1. As far as I know, John doesn't make a 3" muffler
2. Price. They're beautiful, quality pieces, but damn expensive
3. The wait time.

Re: Hytech muffler, dont see many around
I did not buy the exhaust because the midpipe was another 500bucks and i can get a midpipe with resonator in stainless for 275.
The price for it is 395 plus shipping yes its really expensive and took months. I talked to john he told me 2 weeks but there were many excuses and pushbacks, im not saying hes a bad guy but you will expect to wait for this product. But it is a really nice piece overall amazing welds.
If i can remember correctly he did a stainless pack with a cloth wrap, or a cloth packing with stainless wrap if i can remember correctly, its been months since i asked about that myself. He told me it wont burn up like the other because i noticed the ws2 did that, atleast imo it got louder over time.
I will have pics up soon of the inside outside no problem, and i cant wait to hear it myself i have to finish up body work get it to the shop and get it put on. I wanted something non honda riceburner sound that was the whole point of the muffler.

Re: Hytech muffler, dont see many around
I run the complete Hytech cat-back and it sounds great, not the least bit raspy or ricey, just slightly louder that stock really. All the muffler does is each time the pipe goes through the muffler, it's perforated like a resonator is but because it goes through twice, it acts like a real long reasonator but it is a straight through muffler. It just goes straight through twice.

Ya i coudlnt afford the entire system after the turbo mistake i made, now trying to resell everything to just get car back on the road. Ive been told the twinloop is a restriction because it goes though twice but who knows, I know its a really quality porduct and cant wait to run it, only thing i wish he would have made the pipe that goes over the lca

Re: Hytech muffler, dont see many around
Well i had the 2.5 exhaust put on with a resonator. It sounds great the only downfall is the muffler hits the framrail near the lca so it does rattle a little bit, otherwise im happy. The shop put a vband on the axleback which is ****ing awesome so easy to remove now.
Took it out for a drive sounds good, lil loud in the car cuz i pulled the sound deadener out but owhell. Ill post pics up later

Re: Hytech muffler, dont see many around
Does anyone want to hear a soundclip of the hytech muffler?
Its a hytech rep header with 2.5 exhaust 12inch resonator to the hytech muffler, so everyone knows.
Only problem is it hits the framerail because the muffler is so dam large

I got the entire hytech exhaust system including the renault cat, a 22" magnaflow resanator and the hytech twin loop and to me this is loud as **** and I don't see how I could make this quieter.

Re: Hytech muffler, dont see many around
Simply the best muffler on the market,I run two of these and they sound great. Also to add there is virtually no power loss between running johns complete system versus open header.

Re: Hytech muffler, dont see many around
Mine lightly touches the frame at the back of the muffler, close to the axle...haven't figured out how to correct it yet but it's only really annoying at low speeds turning into a driveway or going over speed bumps etc...
