I want to pull the Intake manifold on my GSR to clean it out and was thinking of adding a Hondata gasket. Do these gasket last as long as the OEM? I don't want something that starts leaking a year or two down the road. Can i just slap this gasket on and forget about it like an OEM unit.

yep...they are also reusable unlike the oem...but you need longer studs...

Not necessarily. I've seen quite a few instances where longer studs are NOT needed. Depends on which IM you're using, too.

IMO, the Hondata type gaskets (there are quite a few other companies making them -- Golden Eagle, P2R, etc -- that sell them for quite a bit less than the Hondata gaskets -- ~$25) are a no-brainer. You get a re-usable gasket that may increase performance. So, spend $25 once..or ~$12-$15 as many times as you take your IM off?

I have had my Hondata gasket for 3 years now. I've had my manifold on and off several times. It always seals without any issue.

If you look on the "Shodans" build thread for project "she", outlaw engineering makes a kit with a throttlebody and intake spacer that he used and expalins the advantaged over the hondata gasket.

But nonetheless, the hondata gasket works and I've had mine on and off numerous times and got it used!

I run the Bisimoto hyper engineered intake gasket and it gave me 50 extra whp and is guaranteed to outlast my car! true story.....lol

Thanks for the advice guys. I ordered one last night. $54 shipped is not bad at all. I plan on doing the throttle body coolant bypass that Hondata suggests as well. So I've never pulled a GSR IAB manifold before so I'm not sure what I'm in for. Any helpful tips on pulling the manifold off would be great and Let me know if I'm needing anything else for the job.

Should i replace the injector to manifold o ring seal things or anything else when the intake is off?
