Default HELP finding the best cams for my high comp b18c

i know alot of ppl post on here trying to find the best cams and i did alot of reasearch but cant really find a straight answer was hoping i could get some feedback on others experience/ dyno charts

heres my build
b18c
81.5mm
block gaurd
eagle rods
cp 12.5:1 comp pistons
b18c head stock ports for now
brian crower dual valve springs
skunk2 1st gen intake manifold
skunk2 port matched 70mm tb
450cc
walbro 255
3in intake with v stack
4-1 speedfactory header 3in outlet
b16 tranny
lightened flywheel

i think thats all i can think of for right now might be adding a shot of nitrous depending on the power it makes and what the tuner has to say

was thinking of running buddyclub IV, skunk2 pro 2 or jun 3 cams

are theyre any better cams for my setup that anyone would recommend?

and if anyone else has any other tips on my setup i can upgrade that would help also but im sticking with 81.5mm bore wish i woulda went bigger but it should work fine

planning on reving to 9200 maybe higher if it continues to make power

What RPM range do you want to operate in? I guess what I am asking is do you know what RPM range your intake and exhaust systems perform at there best? Also do you know what kind of flow numbers your head is running at? If you plan on porting in the near future that will probably change the cam requirement.

The answers to these questions would point you towards the cams that would generally work the best for your setup.

im probably going to leave the ports stock. i mean there are boosted cars making 800hp on stock ports im sure a all motor with jun 3 cams has plenty enough head flow to support it. id like to port the head but dont have the money for a good port job and dont want a 300 dollar port by some shop i dont know. im hoping the stock ports will do fine. ive had a few friends make 240-245whp on jun3. there looking like the best set i can think of for the setup.

Stock port on turbo Vs. N/A are pretty different. Correct me if i am wrong but you can force air into a combustion chamber much easier than you can pull it in. Not saying you will have a problem with it it will make plenty of power on stock port. just my .02 on the turbo comment about the 800hp turbo cars on stock ports. your goal it to maximize efficiency with N/A in as fast as possible then back out as fast as possible. like stated before your flow rates will determine what cam and where you want the power. Do you want the power at 4000 or 10000rpm?

Not flaming at all just thought I would chime in.

thanks for the imput! i was just saying that because people were saying that there is no point in using big cams if im not porting my head. and i dont want a crap portr job cause i dont have the money for a nice port.

^ yeah i feel ya on the money issue. A crappy port job is worse than no port job at all for sure. I dont see that it would be a waste to put big cams in there. You just wont reach their potential at the moment. But later down the road you will already be set for more power. I have not heard anything bad about Jun 3 cams. Toda VTEC killer cams are pretty good if you want high rev power.

I usually let my customers speak for me now.. If you read through my post, you'll see me rarely recommend my cams over something else... personal experience always speaks volumes over some "sales pitch".

People read this site enough to know where to find me, contact me, and of course my FB and website..my number is pasted all over the internet and so is my email..if someone needs to contact me, they can.. As for cams.. I appreciate the reference angryhillbilly, but it sounds like the OP is on a budget.. Pro2's, Pro3's are probably the best options as for shelf profiles.. If you wanna really unlock the power you can look into Web's or Mine for a more custom approach, either way, you cant go wrong and will receive top notch quality and service. Good luck.

i see whatchya did there

no ill be honest ive heard plenty of people who love your custom cams and are really happy with there results. id like to give you some info on my personal build, and see what you think your cams could do for me. i feel like i should be making more power than i am and would be interested in your opinion and a possible upgrade in the future. send me a PM and we can go through your normal process. what ever that is.

I agree to a point with you on this. For daily driven it IS alittle on the too aggressive side.

pro 2s and 3s arent too agressive for daily driving thats not what im worried about. ive drove my friends 245whp all motor on pro 3s and it his daily car has no problems only thing is you have to hold the throttle in the mornings after that its good to go. my other friend has jun3 cams and he used a degree wheel to install that cams and he said hes had no problems either. but most off shelf cams are suppose to be a "drop in cam" so im not sure on that. and @ALL MOTOR with your custom cams would i have to degree them in also or would they be straight drop in for my setup? because if those cams make that big of a diffrence ill just wait im in no hurry to build this motor.

pro 1 2 and 3 are not "drop in cams" they all need to be degreed.
