Pro1's work if you get the correct intake manifold runner length and plenum volume with the 95mm stroke engines.

nice write up and dyno results, lets take my engine for example, 95 stroke, pro 3s, rlz head, custom nah2b header and intake. The exhaust tubing diameters of this setup are most likely restricting that head, also the intake runner length and diameter are probably to long and too narrow.. playing with the cam gears will most likely yield more power once u find the sweet spot

I also forgot to add that cam gears were played with on previous head. We had gained 6whp all across by doing so.
We didnt have time to touch them again on new head..

When was ~250whp and 180tq not good enough for an:
Stock short block H23a...
Flattop piston...
race spec head... (That wasn't designed for your current setup)
and no cam degree/cam tuning on the dyno...
$300 header...
Seriously, that's a killer setup Zuptidi. Get that thing to the track and run low 11's already. Seat time ftw!

What does Kenny think about the power? 248whp from a very simple 2.3 build sounds great to me.
If the camgears are at zero I am sure you will gain something by tuning them on the dyno, or if you degree them properly. If they where left at the same spot they where the last time they where tuned on the dyno and the head was not milled much, there probably is not much to gain, but maybe a couple of horses.
What is the length of the runners? (total length from valve should probably be around 11-12in for the 3. harmonic to peak around 8000?)
Do you have any pics of this 3IAB setup? Sounds very strange with the way the IM is looking.
Also the plenum volume might be no the small side?
Do you have any measurements of the header?

exactly what I thought. The curve is very nice to, just looses a little bit to early/fast at the top.

Re: H23A blue top + RLZ head dyno (Turbogixxer Tuning)
even with 3 iab plates, plenum volume is 0.8 Liters less then the usual Ported OEM+1 iab stack..
So yea i believe even more plenum volume would help.
The cam gears was left to where it had made the most power before the head.. they're not at 0,0
i will let u no about runner length, but iirc its at 11" now.

Oh, now I understand what three IAB plates are :p Now the graph/test makes more sense
I thought it was three butterfly valves or something..lol

Great results for a mismatch setup! I'll be running Jun type IIIs on my stock h23. There more aggressive then Pro1 ones but less aggressive then pro2s so I think it should perform good on the Bluetop.

Re: H23A blue top + RLZ head dyno (Turbogixxer Tuning)
Wanted to add some testing in this forum.
All thanks to TURBOGIXXER TUNING
Kenny knows his **** and does great work
Setup is
H23A stock Block
Skunk2 Pro1
Twin Tb+ halfway ported IM+ 2 iab plates
Logic Header +3" exhaust
e85
In the specs i sent for RLZ, i inputed a 13.5 comp 95mm build using skunk2 pro3. thats my future plans..
Run 020: Old dyno with Stock head
Run 040: New Dyno with RLZ head
Run 027: Rlz Head + 3IAB plates
Run 033: RLZ head + 3IAB plates + (increasing fuel pressure from 35 - 60psi)
We ran out of time and didnt have time to play with cam gears. theres def more left in her
Enjoy, i , including many others feel theres something restricting the head..
What do you think
compression?
Replica header?
cams?
Discuss
Here's dyno of open header vs 3" exhaust.
It was on 2 iab plates and 35psi fuel pressure
Run 040: Green 3" exhaust
Run 041: Red Open Header
