h22/n20 12.0:1cr pump or e85
my set-up is a h22
with 12.0:1 cr
eagle rods
arp head studs
skunk2 stage2 tunner cam
crome ecu
camp1320 header(open)
itb's a maybe
is it worth the extra time to switch to e85 on set-up like mine
the motor is being built right now.
could i make more power?
i also am spraying a 150 wet shot on this motoe
is the e85 worth it?
what kinda compression is e85 really going to shine over pump?

Yeah its worth it. And if your going to spray it you better run at least e85.When using spray timing gets retarded alot the more octane you have in the gas the less timing needs to be retarded. The more time you can add in Most Cases gives you more power.

I have seen a few tests locally that where all motor cars picked up a few hp switching to it.
I personally am not 100% on the e85 bandwagon just yet.
Keep in mind that with e85 you need more fuel to satisfy the motor, not sure how that would come into play with nitrous because running a wet system sprays both fuel and nitrous into motor (obviously) but those jets are for regular gasoline, not sure if the fuel mixture would be rich enough with e85 on those same jets.
The main question is - Is there an e85 station close to you?

called my tuner
and he says there is most likely power to be found, he says he could advance timing more to make more power, he also said he has lots of jets on hand and yes you need bigger jets to get the same hp number, im thinking im going to try it
also i live in iowa, we have like 3 e85 stations within 30miles of where i live, one is only abou 2 miles from my house, but the car is only driven in the summer/spring months anyway

Re: (GoldLudeRay)
one it is a higher octane 105 i believe. and 2 it is an ethonal(my spelling sucks) based fuel so it has a lower combustion temp which is really ba. I have a friend that swears his life by e85 and has turned me into an e85 lover. Also i hear you can mix it half and half with 93 pump gas for a really nice racing mixture(dont know how that works but just a word of mouth thing) but i would definatly say it is way worth it

This is a new area for nitrous users that has shown promise...However, you shouldn't be using E85 with your typical nitrous kits and nozzles. The rubber plungers in the fuel solenoids currently are not capable of withstanding E85. The nozzles are not sized efficently to support the correct atomization of Nitrous and E85. NX and O2 have done tests and do produce single nozzle E85 kits currently.
I am actually in the preliminary process of designing a multiple module ethanol dispensing machine currently. So I have been testing materials and dealing with vendors daily. Learning a lot.

If reading comprehension is tough, I'd stay away from the spray if I were you.

The seals in your gas tank, the fuel lines, the fuel pump, the injectors all have to be certified for alcohol use. Otherwise you'll be dealing with $2,000 worth of damage like BigTuna.

I was just in Joliet for the NMRA race and fueled up the TSX near there on my way in Friday...I know you can get 93.

hmm i was thinking of doing the same setup on an h2b with a 100shot. i have a few friends with boosted cars around where i live that run flawlessly on e85 using stock lines an everything...my car is setup to run e85 (when i was boosted) but i never got a chance to convert from race gas.
anyone have any info directly from nitrous companies that say e85 can NOT be used with their solenoids?

Re: (rebo0t)
So after a bit of googling , it seems like most of the domestic guys on e85 recommend closer to 20-30% more fuel rather than 30-40
This thread had some good info http://e85forum.com/about294.html
Also, i was a bit worried about the solenoid issues with e85, so would any of you know if it would be best to just get a solenoid made for alchohol/nitro ?
I already have my NOS DP kit so i figure i will just get this http://www.holley.com/16060NOS.asp

as soon as a i finish my N\A 13:1 h23 vtec h2b build, i plan on running e85, many people on boost in my area are making great numbers with e85. just make sure to have atleast 550cc injectors and walbro 255 fuel pump.
