Great job Bisi!
In case anyone missed the Castrol Syntec Top Shop Challenge, the results are in this months magazines. Bisi built a 2.4L F22 SOHC, and scored a peak hp. of 360, and 239ft.lbs of torque. The challenge was biased toward FI setups, but I think Bisi put up a valient effort.

Re: Great job Bisi! (BuildOff)
what magazine was it in?
SO they allowed forced induction (FI)? or did you mean Fuel Injection?
I think a bit more info would be appreciated.

i think castrol did the competition and each magazine picked their builder (preferred)
Bisi (superstreet)
(lowrider)
Cosworth (not sure which mag)
and many more..
i wonder how Cosworth did..
theyre the only 2 guys i was lookin forward to.. since they both opted for N/A motors..
omni i think they added a double up figure for whp per displacement on FI motors
to keep it somewhat fair

Re: (Aquafina)
The current (Jan. 2009) issue of Sport Compact Car has the results for the castrol top shop challenge..
The order is:
1. AMS - 1035hp 4g63 single turbo
2. G-dimensions - 827hp SR20 single turbo
3. 034 Motorsports - 848hp audi 7A 20v single turbo
4. SP engineering - 966hp RB26DETT
5. Bisimoto - 360hp f22a all motor
6. Cosworth - 438hp VQ35 all motor
7. Ace Machine - 1092hp chevy sb 350 Twinturbo
For what it is worth, i think the NA guys were the most on track with what the intention of the contest was. They went with no power adders because there was supposed to be a large correction factor for using them. Apparently that didn't happen, or the factor was too small to make the playing field level.
either way, Bisi taking out cosworth in the standings is extremely impressive.

Fram makes some of the worst filters. One or two in their line-up are average at best.

i know many reputable engine builders that only recommend genuine honda filters......which are currently made by Honeywell....parent company of Fram filters
when i was a lube tech at Honda all the filters we used were made by fram and they were genuine honda filters!!!

Thanks for all the kind words, all...even with the Fram comments..lol
At Bisimoto Engineering, we had a lot of fun building the 100 octane engine, and it made great power with the Bisimoto level 3 camshaft and cam gear, portflow/dasa head, kinsler ITBs, Bisimoto header, arias pistons, GE block, and AEM EMS+COP setup.
I will be writing a recap for super street this week, and it should come out in the February issue.
The rules gave boosted applications a 2X displacement multiplier in the HP/displacement competition. All thing being equal, that could easily be overcome with 14.7 psi. Many ran more than 2.2 times that amount of boost in the competition.
Cosworth and I stayed true to the street challenge purpose: to build engines which could withstand OEM torture tests. It would have been easier to use a detuned version of my race engine, but how much fun would that be?
The 361hp engine is streetable, and could even be tweaked to pass emmisions, with a slight power penalty. I would like to thank all the enthusiasts who voted, cheered and rooted for us...2009 has more in store for the F, K, H and B powerplants from Bisimoto Engineering.
