Compression tests are difficult to guage. It depends on what type of guage you use for the test, as we've had a MAC read differently than a Snap-On using the same engine.
Guesses? I'd say between 200-220psi.

good numbers chris..
lol its pretty funny tho. i just scrolled down looking at the pics, and i didn't realize it was you and in the "hang ten" picture w/ the cams, i was like "hey, those look like seans hands", then i scrolled up and noticed it was you. lol
you just need to find a way to get that power to the ground!

The power was getting to the ground, it was just being lost by the clutch along the way!

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by REVHARD_EF »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Here they are:
5600-12.8
57-58:12.5
5893-6160:12.7
62-63:12.8
64-6677:12.9
6768--7106: 13.0
7197:13.1
7287:13.2
7372-7641-13.3
7726-7900(fuel cut) 13.4</TD></TR></TABLE>
I'm no expert, but the above is probably the reason for your power dip between 5600-6300. You're pretty rich for WOT in the midrange- try pulling fuel in the 5600-6500rpm range to get the a/f up closer to 13.5 or so. I think on the top end it's safe to go down to about 13.0 but if you do it sooner than that, you're just losing power.
Anyone agree with me who has experience with this kind of stuff?

Re: Dyno'd my mild GSR build. (REVHARD_EF)
I would suggest more ignition timing then a retune. Or if you are already slightly advanced then you need to lean out all of those 12's in your A/F ratio. Below vtec close to 14 is good for milage and 13.5 is plenty of fuel to keep safe on vtec. You are either suffering from to much fuel, not enough timing or both. Good looking tourque below vtec though!

Re: Dyno'd my mild GSR build. (B20JonLee)
I upped the VTEC change to 5700rpm, and now there is just SURGE to redline, as opposed to the bog-zoom! So much better, and I'm going to get it retuned when the header gets modified, and I get a chip.
Can anyone recommend a good chip that doesn't have too much ignition advance?

Re: (JDM2ndGen)
what about if there was B16B pistons in it, with a higher compression.. would'nt that be better??
or would it be overkill for the BC III+ cams??

Is This About Right?
Just wondering if these numbers are up to par? I am just a little baffeled b/c I have stock internals and made 184whp. Not trying to take anything away from you, but I am wondering how big of a difference the intake manifold makes.?
Reason I say this is b/c I went with skunk2, but didnt have the car dynoed untill all bolt-ons were done. You loose some tourque, but your top-end will see a dramatic difference

Looks good. In the future see if you can find an Uberdata, Crome, etc tuner in your area.
Can't wait to see what the Spec IV's will be like.

Had my rev limiter been higher, I would have made more power. The thing was still going strong until fuel cut at 7900rpms.

Re: Dyno'd my mild GSR build. (REVHARD_EF)
get the rev limit raised... a friend of mine made 168 with stock block and untuned.. but with spoon cams and ITR springs
he ran a 14.8 with a barely slipping clutch, so get a new clutch and u should be in running mid 14s

The ridiculous thing was, I ran a mid 14 with a *slightly* bent valve. So I fix the motor, get it tuned, and run a 15.0 with a slightly slipping (high RPM's were not good times) clutch. Just got the clutch/flywheel sone, so we'll see what she can do.
