D15B7/D16Z6 Head (Mini Me Swap)
Well, I'm Getting A Bit Upset. My Boy Has An '93 EJ Coupe With A D15B7 In It. Well I Keep Reading On Other Threads About People Milling The Head 6 Or 7 Thousandths. Me And My Boy Was Planning On Milling His Head To 40 Thousandths On A D16Y8 (MLS) Head Gasket. Thing Is, People Who Don't Mill The Head So Much Still Has Their Head Gasket To Seal Properly. People Who Mill It As Much As 40 Thousandths End Up With Coolant In The Cylinders. What Do I Do?

Would Really Appreciate The Help ASAP... Safe To Mill A D16Z6 Head 40 Thousandths And Put It On A D15B7 Block (UnDecked) With A D16Y8 (MLS) Head Gasket Or Don't Mill? That's All I Want To Know...

BTW, I Would Think To Torque The Head Studs A Couple 3-5 Ft. Pounds Tighter To Make Sure The D16Y8 Gasket Would Seal... That's Just Me... Just Being Safe And Asking...

Re: D15B7/D16Z6 Head (Mini Me Swap)
.040 is a lot to mill off a head, dont do that. Best way to increase compression is to swap to a higher compression piston, not by milling the crap out of the head. I only mill a head to get a clean fresh surface so the head gasket will seal, a slightly increased compression is a slight bonus but not the goal of milling. Put attention in the head like P&P, valve train and cam best way to gain NA power from a D series. IMO dont waste your time on D15 just swap a B series.

I've Got An LS EF Hatch Already. This Is For My Boy. He Don't Really Have The Funds To Do A Complete Swap. Should I Just Leave The Head Alone (Mill Wise), Put The D16Y8 Gasket On It, And Just Torque It Down To Spec. Maybe A Bit Tighter?
