Crankshaft Pulley Bolt coming loose?
Do you guys replace your crankshaft pulley bolts after several uses? The reason why I'm asking is because my buddy's bolt has come loose twice now after being torqued and removed several times for a rebuild, new timing belt, etc.
Even though it's been torqued to spec and even a few ft.lbs over spec, it has come loose. The motor is a semi built all motor setup, stock crank pulley and innovative motor mounts.

Yeah, loctite medium was used. I'm thinking excessive vibrations due to stiffer mounts will require more torque than stock to keep the bolt in place. I was just wondering though, since some bolts like head bolts shouldn't be reused, if this were the case with the crank pulley bolt as well.

Yep, i had this problem.. on my old itr setup, everytime i hit the two step the crank pully would FLY off and it was torqued down to spec.. i finally put some thread locker on it and impacted it and then torqued it down.. and didn't have a problem.

I'm more worried about it coming off then breaking. If the bolt comes off while driving and you don't catch it in time, there's a chance of the pulley flying off, timing belt flying off, valves smacking piston, etc.
