CEL 21... WTF mate?
ok so the CEL came on, its 21. the vtaks solenoid.. my oil is level, the screen is clean, and when i put a 12v to the solenoid it makes that sound that it is working. but the CEL still comes on. i have another vtec solenoid assembly but there is no pressure switch because its from a JDM R. would that hurt anything to use the JDM solenoid assembly

If you use the JDM setup you'll throw another code unless you splice some wires together. Other than that I don't have any ideas as to why you are throwing a code, I'd reset the ECU and see if it comes back.

code 21 just mean the ecu is not seeing a connection to the solenoid, it does not mean the solenoid is shot it simply means no wire is hooked up from engine bay to the ecu pin.

Check all your wiring connections. Pull on the pins from the harness to see if they're in all the way. If not, they'll come out in your hand, then you'll find your problem.
Mine did the exact same thing after i swapped in my b16a. as long as the solenoid ticks when you connect it to the battery, the problem is wiring.

Re: (Devlins 91LS)
ME... man i should of thought of that. i forgot that its an LS car and i wired in VTEC. the ECU has a adapter harness on it too, so the wires may have moved around. ill double check that when the rain goes away. thanx Cheetah this might save me some big time $$..
