Which cams for semi built b16 (stock bore & stroke)
I need some advice about choosing the best possible cams for my B16a setup:
b18c ported head
3 angle valvejob
milled head
buddyclub 0.5 mm headgasket
supertech valvesprings/retainers
omnipower flat valves
itr ported intake manifold
68 mm throttle body
injen 3 inch cai
hytech production header
2.5 inch testpipe and catback
skunk2 pro camgears
stock short block with p30 pistons
cr will be 11.5~11.7
I just sold my skunk2 stage 1 cams, because I want some cams that make some more power. I was thinking about skunk2 stage 2, pro 1 or buddyclub spec4 cams.
It's still a 1.6L so I would like to know which cams will perform best.
I've searched but there are almost only 1.8L dynos or setups with more displacement to be found. Who has some good advice for me? I'm looking for good midrange and high-end power. 190 whp is possible with some good cams?
Please post 1.6L dyno numbers if possible...

I have no experience with the more expensive cams, but i can say that blox b (s2s2 copies) are very good in a setup similiar to yours. As far as cheaper cams go, i am a fan of them. Have been wanting to try the pro1s though.

Re: Which cams for semi built b16 (clean rice)
I think the m22x are to big and didn't the m21x be turbo cams?
I like the jun3's, but they are a little too expensive. Buddyclub spec 3+ is a good midrange cam, but up top nothing special...
I'm searich for cams with good gains from 4000-8500 rpm and make at least 180 whp (hoping for near 190 whp). So s2s2 or blox b's are a good choise?
Nobody has any dyno's form similiar setups and different cams, so I can compare and know what to expect?

Re: Which cams for semi built b16 (ej_b16a)
M21 cams were designed to work very well on the b16a's and can also be used in a turbo application as well but will make power a long way.
S2S2 cams will work well in your setup and so would a set of Toda A's. I doubt you'll find any examples of people running similar setups as you with all those different cam choices available. You're really going to have to make an educated choice on your own and pick one (can't really go wrong with any of these choices). Tune them and dyno them and see where you're at then.

S2S1's - Alaniz street head - ITR IM - RMF header - 3" AEM cold air - tuned on S200
DYNAPACK
CTR intake, S2S1 exhaust cam - "mild" port work - velocity stack - DC 4-1 - S200
R cams - R IM/TB - R header - S100

Short ram - R TB/AEBS IM - R cams - "megan" header - Crome Pro
S2S2 cams - milled and ported head - R IM - R valves - AEM cold - R header - S100
DYNAPACK
Alaniz Comp head - S2S1 cams - S2 IM - DC 4-1 - VAFC with chipped P28
DYNAPACK
Toda A's - R TB/AEBS IM - R valves - Velocity stack - Edelbrock Pro Flo header - S100
Hope that helped some...

wow thanks clean rice and the other guys for your searching skills and posting some nice dyno's, this will help me a lot!
Damn, those s2s2's make some good power, do you have a link or know what the cr was in that setup?

Re: Which cams for semi built b16 (ej_b16a)
