Don't be a little girl. I've seen them make more than Pro1's on a sub 12:1 compression 1.8L.

Just because one can attempt to do that, doesn't mean they should make such an attempt. For the needs of the OP.. not remotely necessary.

In the turbo world, that's like using a T67 just to make 300whp. Sure it can be done, if the builder and tuner know what they're doing... But why would you?

Efficiency is often overlooked as a key element on what makes a car fast...

Def: achieving maximum productivity with minimum wasted effort or expense.

Key word is stock block, those cams will require a higher comp. at the least to get the most out them. You can use pro 1 cams but do you need them?? i don't think so..

OP I just made 200 HP not to long ago on a stock ITR engine with I/H/E, stock injectors with Skunk2 Tuner 1 cams 91 pump. Which are mild cams and are close to CTR and ITR cams. Ill post up the dyno later when i get home. Im sure it would of made more power with injectors and more tuning, i had him just set the AFR and do a pull and it made 200 hp, i was planing to come back in a weak or so and fully retune with the supercharger but never got around to it.

Why? these camshafts weren't about "dynos".. C'mon. They're simply about better powerband usability that was just outside the OEM class. Nothing more. A dyno comparison would be utterly pointless.

I think pro 1's could be tuned on this motor to provide a good low/mid range and also carry the power out up top. I've seen pro 1's on a stock ITR road race car here locally that had a very impressive power band. It was all about getting the cam timing set right and tuning it in from there. Maybe he got lucky, but I know he made many trips to the dyno constantly improving small things here and there to get it where he wanted. The pro series cam is an elite cam IMO and when tuned properly can't be beat. Even Tuner 2's do well on these motors if tuned right and those are "bigger" in vtec.

Just my .02

Yea I'm sure the pro 1's like you said can be used but might lack a little in the low and mid range compared to other cams that can make better low and mid and still make that peak power, Actually i had pro 1's on a stock ITR and my tuner said they helped keep the static compression down on my JRSC setup years back. Im interested in what my Tuner 2 cams with my other new upgrades will make N.A on my new setup. Ill post up my results in my build thread.

How else would you compare "powerband usability" without a dyno?

My point is, there's no reason to. It's already been done over 10 years ago fun these various companies.

Plus, no one will do back-to-back testing like that with these cams.No one will invest in it. I certainly would give a damn about something that's not going to boost sales or use of these products anymore than they already are.

No point.......

Is it necessary to degree the cams for this setup?
If so does anybody have done it? What degree setting you recommend?

Be specific. Which cams are you referring to?

All cams benefit from proper "degreeing" and adjusting. Some cams don't perform the best at "top dead center degree specs" like some think they should. Some like more separation than others. Every motor will have its own sweet spot for the best power band. Dyno tuning and adjusting cam gears will let you achieve this although having a concrete starting point is nice. Let the motor "talk" to you on the dyno. Read the graph and see what it wants. No one on here can tune your car without physically being there. Find a good tune, trust your tuner, and let the motor dictate what it needs. Every single motor is different. Just my .02
