Re: Cams for GSR (tiresmoke)
There are lots of good cams available for that motor. Jun, Toda, Skunk2, Crower, ITR/CTR etc... You'll need to figure out your future plans for your car and base your cam decision on what's going to offer the best performance. Cams with a higher ABDC will suffer from greater dynamic compression drop than say Honda OEM cams would. If your bottom end is stock and you intend to keep it that way at least for the time being then you'll probably be best served with CTR/ITR cams.

CTR/ITR cams are found everywhere check the here people are always selling them! ranges from $200-$500 depending if you get the intake and exhaust or just the intake
i have a set of Crower cams 63401's they are a lil more aggressive the the ctr/itr cams! intake and exhaust less then 1k on them.
let me know i had them on my car pulled great!

Re: Cams for GSR (tiresmoke)
so leaving the bottom end stock, it would be best to go with ctr/itr cams right?
why do some people get just the intake cam? is it best to get just that one or to get both?
sorry to post on your thread dude, but i'm looking into the same thing

thats on personal preference! i have a stock bottom end with RS cams and runs great! the RS cams are equal to Jun3's and people say you need at least 12:5 or higher fir them! i only have 10:6 on mine!
people only use the intake because the exhaust cam is pretty much the same other then the 00-01 ITR cams i believe

we can use NOS on whatever you put it on! its a matter of tunning! etc!
what do you mean what do they run? as in cost? $640 from them or i might beable to get a set but not much cheaper! they are equal to jun3's....but oyu will need to upgrade your valvetrain

Re: Cams for GSR (SnoFlake EG)
The reason people will tell you to use ITR/CTR cams with a stock bottom end is because higher lift/longer duration cams will cause your dynamic compression to drop. The ITR/CTR cams also have a wonderful midrange, they're relatively cheap, and reliable. If you do not plan to work on your bottom end anytime in the near future I urge you to go with these Honda OEM cams and some adjustable gears.
