Default Best Way to build a fast N/A k20

i just bought a 2002 rsx type S and am going to start building up the motor, i dont wanna do a turbo or supercharger. i was lookin into the ITB setups for the k20's. when u buy these, wat goes into installation? direct bolt on? or do i need to do other **** too. i'm know id have to have it tuned. any other ideas for a good N/A setup would greatly help. thanks guys.

just buying ITB's is not going to do much for your car unless you put a lot of thought into what your doing.....the basics for building a motor are similar for most applications. I/H/E are usually your first mods keeping in mind the potential other mods you would want to do when purchasing these first 3. There are unlimited possibilities to your question. Cams, flat valves, springs w/retainers, head work/port, higher compression pistons, bigger bore, larger stroke, sleeved, non sleeved etc etc....... my advice is do some research ie. search button top right hand corner, and then come back and ask specifics. Find out what your power goals are...search other sites.....go to k20a.org.......people are not going to "E" build your engine. When searching, an example would be to look for headers which make good power....try to compare and contrast avg baseline numbers and avg numbers from different builds using a particular header. Find the best header based on your research and look for cams used in connection with that header...find power numbers for a particular cam.....look for a cam that makes power suited to your needs, compare and contrast numbers and continue with other parts.....look at peoples builds, what parts did they use.... will the parts they purchased suit your budget.........hopefully that helps....don't start buying stuff until you are sure its 1. quality, and 2. something you won't have to replace later because you didn't think it through....ie. buying a header and planning to go turbo...thats money wasted. Good luck.

You may want to look at k20a.org for more information. I would highly recommend looking at some of their all motor builds.

If you're willing to spring for ITBs then you should consider a k24 block first. 20% more displacement willhealp move thatheavy RSX.

If your going to have itb's on a stock a2, you better have AT LEAST valvetrain/ good cams, Higher end race header, kpro or AEM ems. even then its barely worth it over a properly designed IM setup.
