i use a smsp high flow cat .. 200 cell .. the motor almost made 250 whp on 91 oct with it .. i d say it flows like a testpipe . I think a cat that like the SMSP will only rob power when its old ( the material inside is breaking up ) .. hope that helped ..

lower cell count = less restriction = higher flow rate.

Are you using a universal cat or a custom length cat?

Cell count is the number of holes per square inch. Smaller number of holes = larger size holes = better flow = reduced emissions clean up.

This is an interesting topic. Does anybody have cell counts comparing oem cats to different aftermarket brand cats???
How does SMSP's cat compare to Renault's cat??

I believe the metallic core Magnaflow cats are 300 cell, not sure about the Renault cats.

The OEM Civic and Integra cats "look" to be 400 cell ceramic. The cats I've seen on the K20A JDM engines are metallic as I believe the S2000 OEM cat is.
