Beast Crate Engines
I'm sure you have all seen this beast crate engine being advertised.
If you have at all looked into it someone probably told you the retail price on them was like 11-12K for that piece.
As a special promo to try to get them out on the road, Gsport is going to sell the first role out at a special promo price of 8500 bucks.
What do you all think of that number? Here is the spec sheet if you have any questions on what it includes. This price might even be getting closer to me throwing one into my race car.

Re: (crxirex)
I have never been impressed by those motors.
You can get more out of your money by calling Jerry Built or someone similar.
The Dart block is overkill for that level of hp.

Re: Beast Crate Engines (LucasMS)
These guys who sell them really have no clue about their product. I was asking them questions and they just didnt know the answer.
They also give out fake numbers. an 11.5:1 compression motor even though its 84.5 mm according to their numbers would be putting out in between 235-240 whp. That seems a bit on the high side. They also said that they are coming out with a motor running 14:1 compression that is making 300 to the wheels. Also highly doubtful without a massive stroke and a deckplate or something and like 86 mm bore and just a bunch of other ****. He basically said that they would bump compression from 11.5:1 to 14:1 and it would make 300 whp. I stopped listening and walked away after that.
Dart blocks though=

Re: Beast Crate Engines (vtec69)
Hmmm, I guess I should ask why its over priced?
Just playing some devils ad. but what could be better to be worth that much?
When your playing with a normal aspirated engine, what more could you get. I guess I don't understand. If you are compairing power output to what you'd have in a turbo kit then I guess you have a vaild argument.
I figure if you had a GSR and you tried to sell your long block I figure you could sell that for 1500 so you would "in theory" be at like 6k for this engine.
And I've looking into like having JG build my engine it would be like 6k for them to get the same power. Just my thoughts? Am I wrong?

Re: Beast Crate Engines (LucasMS)
I think its an ok price, seriously 8500 for a crate motor thats new with warranty, if i had the moolah i'd buy it and go crazy sick for a few months, but still though u can get alot better stuff for 8.5, i could go to japan and see TAS for 2 weeks and check out all those damn crazy jap bastards cars for 8.5-

Re: Beast Crate Engines (Fook_me_honda)
i am in the situation where i can purchase one of these engines and after talking to someone on the phone at gsport, i was no longer interested in the engine. i agree with what was said earlier about the numbers not comming together right and then i saw that dyno pull as well. its all talk. you can definitely build a better motor for less money without a question, you just need to realize it will take harsh tuning, someone who knows what they're doing, it may not last as long, and try and be patient. it isnt the easiest thing to do. just do the right research.

Re: Beast Crate Engines (LucasMS)
91 at the pump in California.- I guess that would automatically void the warranty for all motors that are sold to CA. (Although, I dont think it will pass CA smog visual inspection anyways for a street car AND Usually theres no warranty for Racing)

Re: (ninefivehatch)
I thought everyone knew the Endyn (no -e) URL.
Larry took great pains to introduce quench into that engine, which is lacking in most Honduh B-series - in fact, that was his downfall when he started overspinning it. Rod stretch owned him. Let me just say that, knowing what some other professional grade people in the scene are doing and not talking about, the whp Widmer was getting is merely average.
