Most definitely if you are running a high static/ dynamic compression setup. Just as with Race gas, E85 will help you realize performance gains via ignition timing advance and complete controlled combustion events -- Besides, if you are running high enough compression then pump gas won't even be an option. This is where E85 can be your friend as it's quite a bit cheaper to run daily than say C16.

e85 is somewhere around 105 octane. The bad part about e85 thought is that it takes somewhere around 30% more than gasoline. So you'll need a larger fuel system to dump enough of it in.

I use e85 on my all motor ls ef.

Pros:
Alot cheaper than race gas
Easier to find than race gas

Cons:
Have to drive kinda far to get it
Had to upgrade to 880cc injectors (for my setup)
Smells kinda funny

Cheaper fuel, run run a little higher ocatane then pump, and is much safer for the environement. However you inherently must use more fuel volume for the same power in most motor builds. Depends on the competancy of the builder and tuner.

i think there are some before and after dyno results on here. you might have to search the archeives. i've seen as much as 7% increase. the best part is you can run some compression in the engine and afford to drive it on the street if you have e85 local. ive run 2 different engines, one with 13.7:1 and another with 14.2:1 both on e85.

Its NOT much safer for the environment......it burns cleaner, but what about the extra fuel it takes them to make it? They need to find a better[low-nuclear] way of processing it.

Local shop was seeing 3-4% gains(via extra timing) on ~200whp setups.
There are some that say it will eat up your fuel filter....but who knows, a lot oe people have been successful with it.
