ammfab head porting pic thread....
mods if there is an issue with this please let me know.
well every body has there fab thread in the welding/fabrication section so im gonna start a ported head thread over in this section.... same thing right? im gonna compile pics of heads ive ported over the years (alot of non honda). and as i get ahold of new heads to port i will throw pics of them up as well.
im only going to post a few pics tonight as i wait to see if it gets erased so i dont waste alot of time adding pics to it.
ill start with some quick pics of my first k series head i ported for a car thats gonna be running in the all motor sport class in IFO. like usual i didnt do anything extreme to this head in terms of material removal but being i dont know my limits with it. i did however port it throughout and also did some work to the combo chambers. dont have exact dyno numbers yet but based on the texts ive gotten from the owner it is north of 300whp.....
before machine work......
after the valve job and resurface
ill update this post with more after machine work pics as soon as i get them uploaded.

Can you post pics of the tools you used? Always curious about what is needed to get results like these.
Flapper wheel, burrs, type of drill, etc. Thanks.
Nice work btw. I'm itching to start practicing myself.

I always love seeing pictures like this, especially when the photography is decent. Do you not subscribe to the ideology that the exhaust ports should have a mirror finsh polished into them?

Re: ammfab head porting pic thread....
is pretty simple..... air die grinders (90 degree and straight) with carbide burrs for material removal and cartridge rolls for clean up. as for getting the really consistent finish on them..... that is acquired over time. i also will use flap wheels and cross buffs occasionally.
IMO its a waste of time. ive heard it will help reduce the build up of carbon over time and what not but as for air flow..... ive never done any testing between the two. if there is a difference i dont think it would be enough for me to justify spend another 3 to 5 hours getting them mirror smooth u know.

very nice. im also surprised you show your work. without a flow bench the average guy in his garage cant replicate your results, but pics are enough to get him to try

no pricing in here, this will only get the thread closed.
yeah the kid said it was def a noticable gain when they installed it. the sad part is the owner lapped the valves in after he got the head from me (he didnt want me to do a valve jobon it). i didnt know if he was serious or not but it turns out he was. im surprise it ran as well as they said it did, those seats wedre trash. i just picked up another clone head today to port and its getting a good valve job on it so im guessing the gains will be even better on this one.
and to the rest of u guys, thanks u. as for the camera i use...... my cell phone on some and a sony .......... something on some.

Re: ammfab head porting pic thread....
and heres a set of dart pro1 big block heads for a chevy. picked up 20 cfm across the board with a max of 2cfm variance from port to port. all i did was gasket match and clean up through out, no extreme material removal. i also matched up the intake manifold in the last couple pics.
