serious history behind them too, mine will be coated before they are ever run, spent about a month making the rest of the system to go with them. I noticed the obx copy came out right after the company went under, in the third generation world, you only now have OBX pacesetter, and if you are lucky, you can find a used DC one, a lot of people have griped about the obx, shitty welds, mouthing holes wallowed out, etc, but all you can do if you want a long tube now is repair them, it's their crap or nothing

You will never find that in a cheap china/Taiwan header.

I know a number of people use Burns' collectors; I'd be curious about a full Burns designed manifold. $75 for the design, buy the collector, then you just have to find someone to fab it...

I run a hytech replica header that I dug out of the dirt in a junk yard and got for free lol. From what I can tell it still breathes as well as it needs to. Every adjustment ive made in other places on the car the HP numbers respond well. My car makes around 260hp and 181 ft lbs tq. Would a high dollar header like the one DD tech is using help... im sure it would. And id love to have one. But is it necessary? Probably not for the average bear.

We didn't do a back to back test but the PLM Toda rep made 260 WHP on a 85x89 B series. With Jack's header we made 270 WHP.
If you're on a budget it's been proven from a few shops that the Toda rep can hang in there for much lesser money spent.

u happen to have the SAE charts to both? ^
I also happen to have compared the PLM Toda with the Myers. (not back to back also, but SAE and same dyno) the Myers header made more power everywhere, and carried power all the way past 9.5k, whereas the Toda drops right around 9k.

every time you buy a cheap knockoff chinese made header, you put another nail in the coffin of a company here, probably with a design they created, and you are getting questionable quality and materials

That whole debate is two sided. I can understand both sides nowadays although I strongly support the US guys. Generally the guys buying the knock offs weren't going to spend 1000 on a header to begin with, regardless the power it made or the craftsmanship. Smart people who buy the US real headers know the difference between the two and go with the higher quality piece.
My hatch came with a plm and I can't wait to have my own (CMWorx...useless insertion :p) sitting in there.

If you want to make average power, a Hytech big tube or some type of smsp knock off will hold you over
If you want to make power, Myers Manifolds, Hytech(real), SMSP, AFI, ASP,sixxsigma the list goes on
I run a Myers "street" race version on my shop car.
Quality headers cost.. Myers is 900+
