Re: Aaron's 190whp+ B16A Build
Here are the results
Tuned with S300 with 95 octane fuel
134kW at the wheels which equals 180 whp@ 9000 rpm
Rev limiter set to 9500rpm
hope i can find the 10 more whp with a modified intake and a retune
currently im running stock EG6 Airbox with stock filter and 60mm intake tube.
i guess its holding me back a lot since i run a 68mm throttlebody
im looking for an integra type r airbox with kn filter and a custom 3" intake tube.
the engine is currently running in an eg Sleeper build so in dont want a short ram intake.
im having problems with my vtec crossover currently set @6200 rpm
at first i got a massive dip in the power curve the after tuning fuel and ingnition it started to get a lot better.
the light blue curve vtec was set to 6500 rpm , i guess when i set vtec to 6900-7000rpm i can eliminate the dip.
maybe you got some tips for me.

Re: Aaron's 190whp+ B16A Build
im sure if i switch to a 3" exhaust system there will be an easy 8-10 hp gain,
but since the car is my daily driver , im trying to stay quiet.

that true but a friend has SR20VE pulsar and he is running 3'' straight through but has a cherry bomb and two magnaflow mufflers, one after the cherry bomb and the other at the back silent even when vvl kicks

Re: Aaron's 190whp+ B16A Build
Parts are on their way from US to Austria
Camber kit front and rear
Rear Toe Kit
Rear LCAs
Tein type Flex Coilvers
cant wait to install these!
What about my intake
i was thinking about an Integra airbox with a KN drop in filter
Or the Comptech icebox with comptech intake ?
do you think there will be a noticable difference between those 2 ?
and could someone tell me the inside diameter of an integra intake hose at the throttlebody ?

Put a nice 3 inch intake tube and a 3 inch velocity stack with filter on there and retune. Enjoy the gains
You exhaust is holding you back, too small. Get a 2.5 inch exhuast on there.
Do you have any datalogs saved from the dyno session or hard driving sessions?

Re: Aaron's 190whp+ B16A Build
yeah i know i would be better off with a bigger exhaust and an open intake with velocity stack, but since the car is a sleeper build and my daily driver
it should remain quiet.
i already did a retune to eliminate the dip in the power curve
now vtec is set to 6900 found up to 12whp in that range.
but still 180 whp
if youre intressted my AFRs are in the 13.0-13.2 range at WOT , thats where it was producing the most.
and at 8800rpm i start to go richer just for safety.
send me a pm with your email if you want some datalogs.

Re: Aaron's 190whp+ B16A Build
Aaron I found with the B16a engines a 75mm alloy intake arm between 700 to 900mm in length with a Vstack and a K&N filter on the end of it to work the best.We played on the dyno for hrs with intakes and that seem to make the best average torque on these little engines.

Re: Aaron's 190whp+ B16A Build
Hey dave thx for that
So i guess ill have to try it with the intake.
And no the cams have not been moved yet.
They're degreed to skunk stock specs.
Which in this case turned out to be 1.5* advanced both intake and exhaust.
With the aem tru time gears.
I thought about retarding the xhaust cam.

Re: Aaron's 190whp+ B16A Build
ok i'll tune my camgears when i do the retune for the intake.
well see how much power we gain.
I'll try the intake uncle dave said and an integra box with kn.

I sent you a timing curve to try and would like to know what lobe centre's are you using with the cams.

Re: Aaron's 190whp+ B16A Build
what motor is labeled 3. that motor would destroy the other plots it is overlayed with? why is there only one chart and the others seem to be your engine as it has many plots similiar to it as if it were tuningh changes. thanks!

Re: Aaron's 190whp+ B16A Build
hey dave.
thx for the ignition tables
i have tried them, retuned the AFRs
and the engine seems to rev better @ 4k+ rpm
im not sure about the power below 4k
we'll see next friday when i hit the dyno
how much of a difference it is.
the Cams are degreed to 98 ATDC Intake and 105 BTDC Exhaust
@tempsohc: the engine labled 3. is just a 3rd gear pull and the other pulls are 4th gear.

Re: Aaron's 190whp+ B16A Build
Sounds like a plan
Blox Velocity Stack with filter already ordered.
and i got my self some 3" PVC piping for dyno tuning.
well see what turnes out to be the best lenght and this is
going to be fabricated in alloy.
Maybe in a Custom alloy heat shield box.
after that i'll try a smaller throttle body 60-62mm instead of the 68mm
just for comparing on the dyno.
