2000 CRV smoking at idle..
Hey guys-
2000 CRV - 100% stock. Automatic transmission. 150,XXX on the clock.
It's started smoking at idle, with the AC on. Turn the AC off, smoke goes away. It also doesn't smoke at higher RPMS.
So, I've come to believe it's sucking something, from somewhere at idle, when the vacuum is the highest.
Attempts to eliminate smoke:
New plugs. Plugged the old plugs to see if the PCV was dead and gunking up the plugs. Plugs are 150k old, but they were just used looking, not wet, oily, etc.
Pressure tested coolant system. So, there are no leaks, so it's not a head gasket.
I just put the new plugs in, and she's out in the driveway with the AC on full to see if the smoke returns. I'm sure it will.
I'm thinking piston/rings..
Anyone?
