Hi everyone. While driving on the road yesterday, my 08 TSX got hit by a rock and it created a small crack on my windshield. The star shape is about half an inch in width but does not seem very serious. Anyway, do you think that Acura would cover this under warranty? One thing I would like to mention is that the windshield has been replaced before due to vandalism about 6 months ago. So it got replaced by my insurance but it didn't got installed by Acura. The windshield was from Honda's part, but the installation was done somewhere else. My point of bringing this up is because I would like to know that since the windshield was replaced by someone else, did it voided my warranty? If not, would this new damaged on my windshield be covered under the warranty? If not, what can you suggest me to do? I don't think my insurance will replace the windshield with Honda's part again because last time it costed them 1K to replace it. Now 6 months later and another windshiled needs to be replace, I don't know if they're willing to spend that much again.

Your insurance should cover it.

I dont think the warranty will cover a rock hitting it. It doesnt hurt to call them up and ask because they can only say no. To preserve the windsheild untill it is fixed I have heard of people puting super glue over the crack so it doesnt get any bigger.

damn $1k to replace a windshield. I don't think that is covered under warranty
