Re: TSX or IS 300? (celtic)
I've been thinking about buying an IS300 too.
However, the TSX / EuroAccord has more standard features and I like the dash more than the Lexus dash.
Also, I think the looks are too old. The car looks really nice, but has been on the market for a couple of years now.
The TSX with the JDM kit on it looks very tight.
The IS300 is a great car for lots of driving. The 6cyl. is very smooth.
The TSX is a 4cyl which is acting more nervous than a 6cyl one. However, I especially choose this car since - from factory! - the 4cyl is more sporty and I didn't want to modify the car that much.
Though, if I had the opportunity to buy the IS300 too I'd really do the turbo add-on! That mod. is awesome for an IS300.

Re: TSX or IS 300? (GRAVEDIGGER)
IS300 looks great, but definitely beginning to look dated. The tail lights were very fresh and new when the car debuted but by now a lot of cars use tail lights like that (Galant, Altima, Lancer Evolution, etc).
The TSX looks great -- aggressive but still sophisticated. I admit it may not be very flashy, but we all know it's what's under the hood that counts.

i took back all my vote for IS3 ....between those 2 cars i would say neither...u can get an Evo8, Sti or S4 for about the same price, with the hook up of 4WD.

Don't for get to add the fact that the EVO & STi will garnish some un-due attention. And forget parking it out in public for a long time.
The S4 is near the $40k mark. Seeing out the EVO, STi & IS300 can be had for around $30k, and the TSX for around $27k, I don't see how a S4 could even be considering he was asking about a IS300, and TSX at their price point.
AWD, **** it....get a damn Gallardo then!!!

if you're dreaming of a RWD car, then I think you should get Lexus IS...this is not like buying a clothes when you think it's not good for you, you can exchange or refund it. So Importantly, what do you like the most about having car.
IS and TSX have nice design. I'm sure the quality is the same thing...
it just my .2

Get the IS300, hands down a better car. It will cost more but you will be much happier with it. Plus a RWD car is always better than a FWD car.

A good friend of mine has a 03 IS300 5-speed, and ive had a fairly good amount of seat time in the car. First, the fit and finish is fantastic IMO, very plush comfortable interior with lots of options. Being a Lexus, the ride is butter smooth and the cabin is DEAD quiet... almost too quiet tho, as you can barely hear the engine (im used to my loud, obnoxious R). The motor has good torque throughout the entire powerband, but overall there is much to be desired... 30 or 40hp more and it would be a much more enjoyable ride IMO. Handling is good for a sedan, but there is a pretty good deal of body roll, brakes are great tho. Styling is subjective, but i personally like the look. Only thing i really didnt like was the gearbox... it was fairly notchy, long throws and lacked the solid feel that a honda trannsmission has. I havent driven the TSX, but every review ive read talks of a wonderful car, in both the engine/tranny response and handling. My advice would be to definitely drive both.

Re: TSX or IS 300? (Champ R)
my uncle was sorta in your situation looking at is300's and tsx's. He test drove both and was very satisfied but then he test drove the Tl and G35 and those just blew the tsx and is out the water.
He is leaning more towards the g35 because the 2004 sedans have awd
